I was one of the 61 away fans at Tranmere yesterday.
I really enjoyed the game. Tranmere carried most of the attacking threat but Spitfires really battled and were denied a point only by a Norwood goal scored in the SIXTH minute of the FOUR minutes of injury time.
Tramnere were streets better than Braintree and will surely be there or thereabouts at the end of the season but the boys put their bodies on the line and defensively were strong.
I was confused by the managers selection of 3 strikers only one of whom, Mandron, actually played a lone furrow up front but it is early days and we all need to be POSITIVE not NEGATIVE. If the team play the rest of the season as they did at Tranmere and can add more of a cutting edge in the final third they will win far more than they lose.
My message to Spitfires fans is keep the faith!
Bring on Dover.

Not sure I was watching same game. I thought it was an entertaining match against a useful Weymouth side who tried to pass the ball around and had pace down both wings.
I have seen friendlies at Stoneham Banbury and Weymouth and although still early days I am very optimistic. We have 3 quick powerful centre backs in Obileye Essem and Dugdale and it would not surprise me if Toddy plays all 3 with Joe and Greener bombing forward from wing back.
In midfield we have strengthened with Howells (creative) and Pipe (competitive pocket battleship) and up front Wilson is quick sharp and never gives defenders any peace.
Last season there were times when the team did not seem up for it but with all action players like Pipe and Wilson in the side I cannot see this happening in 2016/17.
Similarly there were times last year when we were bullied out of it but this coming season should be totally different. A lot of the team are 6 feet plus so we should not only be strong in the air defensively but also a massive threat in the opposition box at set pieces.
In the squad we now have Ryan Huddart who towers over all our players and must surely be the tallest goalkeeper in the National League. If he makes the team and all else fails he could be thrown up front if we are trying to salvage something in the last few minutes of a game?

I am in exactly the same boat. I normally wear XL but XL white shirt I tried on in shop few days ago was too tight.
There are XXL and XXXL sizes but shop had sold out when I was there.
I am sure problem arises because shirts are slightly smaller than normal and has nothing to do with drinking and eating habits of Spitfires fans - Kidderminster pies?
