Getting exciting isn't it even the forum has broken out in a severe case of optimism, apparently the cure will be 90 minutes of frustration on a pitch somewhere in England over the next couple of months (hopefully not on Saturday)!
Any truth to the rumour that we are going to be walking out to 'Football's Coming Home' and the Shed End are going to change the words to '3 Ryan's in our Squad..............'
I'm here all week............

Loving the negativity, someone was on here 3 weeks ago moaning the pitch wasn't ready and it was embarrassing, now we have judgements for the next 9 months being made on a couple of pre-season friendlies. You couldn't make it up (oh yes you could!!) Try and enjoy the ride for the first couple of weeks of the real season, life really is too short to be so miserable over the bits that don't really matter and pre-season friendlies really do not matter they are for the Manager to have a look at players, as for entertainment were there not the standard amount of subs made that would break up any chance of flowing footy? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next few friendlies are fantasy football jobbies but honestly all I really care is that we give Guiseley a good beating on the 6th, but if we don't I will probably give it a bit longer before deciding the season is over quite yet.....

Doubt the bookies would agree anyone is a nailed on for 25+ goals a season so hope you are taking lots of their money from them! He's a good player at our level but he didn't show it with us I hope you are proved wrong!

There is a televised game on the opening day 12.15 kick off that would muck things up if we are away to Tranmere!!

I know the pitches are in a different class at Wembley, but still three matches in a row, the final one being the showpiece of the National League season, if the rain comes down early on in the day and hangs around it's a bit of a gamble! We've got used to the play offs and the possibility of the team finishing 4 places off automatic promotion having a chance to go up, but to go as low as 6 places below the automatic spot seems very generous even though that would have been us this year. If it ain't broke............

Westend I'm not asking the club to revolve around me I have been going to pre season friendlies for years pal and they all have been reachable for the fans both price and location I think going to Scotland is a bit to much for the (average fan) ie not just me you plank No real need to get abusive but if that's you then carry on. The Scottish games give the manager time to take the whole team away and acheive a whole lot more team building wise then if they were going home every night. I'll get back to my carpentry!

Not sure when pre season friendlies became something for the fans, surely they are there to get the team in the right position for when the real action starts.
I know it's what forums were invented for but the sense of entitlement and the world revolving around individuals on here really does take some beating......

There has always been immigration Bomber since the war when transport around the world became easier people have moved. It happened in the 50s and 60s long before Blair and there were issues around it then as well, but surprisingly it didn't cause civil war back then and it won't now. If as a nation we were to concentrate on the real issues rather than the divisive ones out politicians and newspapers can use for there own gain the world would be a better place.

But the reality is most vote for a particular party, rather than who their local mp is. The reality is many people do not have their vote making any difference. If you live in Sunderland and don't vote Labour your vote doesn't count, same in Dorset if you dont vote for the Tories. We do not live in a fair democracy so to say we get to choose anything is just plain wrong. A minority make every decision in this country

Fortunately, westend, they won't be running the country, in or out.
If we leave the EU we'll be able to choose our own leaders as we have in the past, irrespective of who was leading which referendum campaign.
If we remain we'll be governed forever by the centralised EU superstate and our parliament will have no real powers so it will hardly be relevant who is in the UK "government".
Not sure which election you have voting in where you have been able to choose our leaders? Our voting system doesn't give us that choice we can vote for a local mp only. The majority of people don't get their choice of mp let alone party and definately not leader who is choosen by the winning party. In reality we have more of a vote to choose the party our MEP comes from. That's not even mentioning the unelected monarch and house of lords.

As this is the off topic board why not politics?
As a remainer my main concerns in leaving would be the erosion of the positive things the eu has done on the Green issues 100% certain a government not bound by the EU laws on these issues would revoke them all in a stroke so they could cash in.
Apart from that there is not one person in the higher echelons of the leave campaign I would trust to look after my dog let alone the country!!
