So how many other teams at our level have signed players from 2 different Premier League teams this summer (let alone this week?) COYS

Look at him compared to Wilshere!

See he's with us on a season long loan, rather than a permanent signing. I would suggest that is a great credit to EFC that Arsenal trust us with one of their up and coming youngsters.

Let's hope he is not wasted and gets game time hate seeing young plays drop divisions on loan and not played, I'm sure Arsenal won't appreciate it either! Just like that Swansea guy!
Looks a good prospect tho

I guess it looks like he will do battle with Ross for the no. 1 jersey.
Pre season could be pretty interesting!

There is still the latent threat to the non league game from Greg Dyke's ambitions to make his personal mark on football history by reforming the divisions.
IIR he wants Prem clubs' reserve ('B') teams in the pyramid.
I think we will see plenty of top clubs' teenagers coming into the non league this season and next. If they don't all progress that will give Dyke the ammunition he needs to say that the National League clubs can't develop up and coming youngsters and he will use that as an argument to support his proposals.
When he was asked about recruiting players from big clubs' U21 fall out, Richard Hill used to say that the U21 system didn't produce players who could perform in the then Conference.
Those contrasting philosophies present an interesting dichotomy. I'll take the side of the man who has played the game and coached at a level most of us could only dream about against a media guru.
I bet Ryan will be a fantastic addition but we should give him the chance to "grow into the team".

He looks just like Josh Helm in that photo, they could almost be twins!!! For those that don't know, Josh was one of our goalies, he's also 6'5 and about a year older I think. Another good signing though, welcome to the club Ryan.

'Richard Hill used to say that the U21 system didn't produce players who could perform in the then Conference'
Having seen a few U21 games, I'd be inclined to agree. However, I think goalkeepers might be a different matter. They will probably have the same mindset whatever level of competition they play at.
