the 'being scared to shoot' was definitely more noticeable on Saturday, seemed to be waiting for the perfect opportunity rather than taking risks and 'shooting on sight' - so as referred to, could be confidence / fear of failure - also thought Mandron had to keep coming back deep to get the ball which then didn't help as we only had Wilson left up front. In the first 20 mins or so we had some good early crosses in from Stearn but they were often too early as not enough players had gotten themselves forward in the box. Still love the whole game experience though, 3rd year as ST holder and go with my 74 yr old Dad - also great to see and hear the passion ( and frustration ) of fans - guess we just have to find the balance between those !

I guess there's some deep rooted history about people not liking Brodie - is that an Aldershot link? But a big ugly lump up front that can hold the ball up, shield it and just bully defenders by their sheer presence is def an option we don't have - Reda normally looks like a giant but when Brodie came on he looked normal size - altho Reda never has any problems holding his own. And the Brodie sub did what York wanted, drew the attention away to him and broke the game up which used a fair amount of potentially constructive 'in play' time for us. Still looking forward to the Tuesday night road trip tho !

Thought 5 was a bit harsh - but in the end Pompey took their chances well while our youngsters didn't convert their chances. Some good passing and moves though throughout the game though - PLUS of course that Fratton Park experience lol - was my first time !

For those that saw the Swansea game yesterday, the Swans manager made a tactical call 3 mins before half-time and pulled off the left back Blimey, in my day we just used to get an orange!! You must have played for a good team, we only got half an orange LOL

He looked pretty physical to me but today was the 1st time i've seen him and was very impressed. Agree RM should manage his fitness so agree he probably won't play on Monday. Did anyone else notice the friendly discussion !!! between him and Ross in the first 10 mins. Not sure if it was that friendly lol

I hope you're right Stew. Mandron has to start for me, but i don't think he's RM's type of player, far too skillful. Wilson is too pacey & skillful aswell..so doesnt make the 16. Bird might win one header, so he's in. Beano likes to play lying down on the floor, so he won't win the aerial balls...So maybe Yemo alongside Bird as starters. Yes Bank Holiday weekend, so lower crowd than usual. i'll go 1,650. I hope it's a great game, we play attacking football, and finish with a convincing & uplifting 3-0 victory. 1632 😊⚽️

Sounds like SD has been thinking of getting a new manager for a while after that interview because he was looking at the last end of the season and the beginning of this season not just the last 4 results so good on him as SS has mentioned in previous post I'm sure SD always keeps a plan B and C up his sleeve for most scenarios at the club - as he no doubt does for his main business - sign of a good, sensible, strategic planner. It then comes down to decision making of when plan A isn't working and it's time to go for plan B.....
