Well I have to say I am happy at that, but a little surprised the club took such decisive action so quickly. I fully expected them to drag this one out a little longer. Hopefully SD has someone already in mind.
Best of luck to CT in the future - will never forget the amazing cup run you guided us to last season.

Yes from "are hopeful of making an announcement by the weekend." sounds like someone is lined up.

Never "happy" to see anyone lose his job, but that's the way it needs to be, thanks Chris & good luck for the future

Good luck to him. Better to have tried and failed than never to have put your neck on the chopping board in the first place.
Right decision, thanks for the cup run (which was incredible) and the initial honeymoon period. Had Todd scraped a draw at the weekend this could have lingered on for weeks.

Disappointed for Chris (thanks for all you've done for the club, Chris, and good luck in the future), also a bit disappointed that since everyone was saying 'let's give him 8-10 games', his stay was ended after only four. Yes, it was pretty awful last night, but I personally still feel this was a bit of a 'knee-jerk' reaction. Most the posts on the forum have supported a quick decision, though. With players still coming into the club it's hard to find your best side. Maybe CT felt the pressure got too much for him as well.
I said at the time I was a little surprised at the time that someone so inexperienced was appointed. I would expect to see someone more experienced this time.
P.S. Let's hope we don't have to play Dover next year.

Good luck to CT and thank you for your time at Eastleigh - not only as Manager but also as a good player. Best wishes for the future - hope this first managerial experience will help in securing future work.

Not surprised by this and I suppose the writing was on the wall. What I would say though is for a squad of players to go away on a pre-season team building tour of Scotland seems rather odd when we still appear to be building a squad. I can't recall who has come and gone since then but it all seems a little fragmented in how the club approached the new season. Again not sure who was driving this. Was it CT who knows but as they say if you fail to prepare....prepare to fail. We simply were not prepared for the season. This is obvious in that we are still signing players. Good luck Chris you have dealt with more than most in your life and always come back stronger as I'm sure you will this time.

Such a shame as a really nice guy, on a personal level he and the team were very good to my friends when they were over from Canada so I wish him all the best in his future career. I guess he didn't feel he could progress the team. We are even at this level in a results driven business so we have to move on or we will be playing catch up in our quest for promotion. Don't panic is the answer as I am sure things are in the pipeline. The infrastructure is here and improving the team seems on paper very good so with a few tweaks and maybe different ideas we will get going again. It's not disastrous so keep the faith, plenty of games to go.

You can't give someone 8-10 games with the really poor start we've had. The style of play remained unchanged from last season which was not good enough. Guiseley will be relegation material this season, Braintree are not as good as last season, Tranmere are a good side but we didn't really perform. Dover should finish below us but looked a team that was organised, committed, knew their formation and tactics - we didn't and looked second best all night. Every game we've changed the team around and it would have been exactly the same this weekend. Sad to see anyone sacked but the right decision has been made and it had to be made now so someone can hopefully come in and give the players some sense of direction that hasn't been evident so far this season in the League.

Wrexham last season was the turnaround after the worst performance I've seen by an Eastleigh team (v Braintree). Maybe we could have got a repeat this Sat.
After that we have 4 which we should be winning. After that would have been the point at which I would have made an assessment.
As I've said on another thread, I think results are not far off what I would have expected. Performances have definitely not been better.
I agree that we didn't seem to be prepared for the season, we had little idea how to use the increased number of players available, and putting a player who was announced in the afternoon in for is debut in midfield, then switching him to right-back for the second half, was asking for trouble last night.
Interesting post from the Dover forum..... 'Very strange that for all their resources, neither Ebbsfleet or Eastleigh have bothered to invest in a quality and experienced manager. If you put a Garry Hill, Gary Johnson, John Still in charge of either club then they would win the league, simple as that. Yet both clubs simply add player after player as their preferred strategy. Crazy, really'.

Has to be someone with real experience this time.

The dilemma that SD faced last time was everything pointed towards CT being made manager (knew the players, was showing great form as caretaker manager), apart from his lack of experience. I am certain that SD won't make that mistake again.

Last night was awful really. Down to the players and injuries as well, but I think Todd used that as an excuse. Cheers Chris.

I would agree with that Dover statement I was surprised after interviewing all those mangers last time and that Chris got the the job but yes we need a man with experience for sure but after saying all that let's go to Wrexham on sat and get behind the lads cause Wrexham are struggling at home so a good chance to get 3 points and the Dover game will be forgotten 😃
