Sounds like SD has been thinking of getting a new manager for a while after that interview because he was looking at the last end of the season and the beginning of this season not just the last 4 results so good on him as SS has mentioned in previous post

In view of Stewart's posting less than a week ago after the Braintree game you could perhaps say that it is slightly surprising that the decision has been made at this point in time, but I think things can change quickly in football, and the expectations for this season are certainly high. . I think that whatever you think about Chris Todd's suitability for the Eastleigh manager's job he appears to be a man of great personal integrity.

While fans can debate whether or not Toddy should have had a longer stay of execution I think he should have gone immediately after the end of last season, especially if SD was having thoughts of replacing him . A new manager will now find himself saddled with players he wouldn't have chosen himself & impossible to move on owing to their high wages & long contracts. Stuart must be regretting not taken action much sooner. This could turn out to be a very costly exercise.
On the subject of new managers would it be possible to get one whose far more vocal from the touchline, not screaming at the players but actively coaching & encouraging.

Each manager has there own style of managing not sure being vocal makes any difference to how the team play RH was not all that vocal and he took us to 2 playoffs and a championship what we have been lacking is a strong and vocal captain like we had with TJ and suvs

It then comes down to decision making of when plan A isn't working and it's time to go for plan B.....

It does seems odd that we didn't get rid of Chris Todd in the summer. In hindsight (and at the time to quite a few people) it seemed like an odd decision.
Hopefully the signings were made with one eye of the future & the post Chris Todd era. Still that is in the past, whats done is done.
The Eastleigh job is a very attractive one on paper, if managers can live with the general pressure & expectation!

A genuinely beautiful man who will go on to greater things in life and he deserves too.
He got us to the play offs after being second from bottom on NYD, then we won the league, then we achieved play offs and then we had our cup run and just missed out on play offs last season under him. I think he did pretty much every role in such a short space of time, player (captain), assistant and manager.
Will always remember Wrexham away which was momentous given the weeks events.
Cheers Toddy, all the best!

Not surprised by this and I suppose the writing was on the wall. What I would say though is for a squad of players to go away on a pre-season team building tour of Scotland seems rather odd when we still appear to be building a squad. I can't recall who has come and gone since then but it all seems a little fragmented in how the club approached the new season. Again not sure who was driving this. Was it CT who knows but as they say if you fail to prepare....prepare to fail. We simply were not prepared for the season. This is obvious in that we are still signing players. Good luck Chris you have dealt with more than most in your life and always come back stronger as I'm sure you will this time. With you on this Tony. I think the training and team building with all our new squad was a great idea. Just can't understand why you would sign a player one day and put him in the starting line up that night. He first met his fellow teammates in the changing room before the match!! I can only imagine how the 'regulars' felt. Some strange variation in our line ups so far - surely your manager should know his best team after all the pre season training. Saw some great play in the friendlies but very discouraged to see the likes of Ayo (who looked a great player) sitting in the stand. Though Chris did a sterling job at the Silverlake and I do hope he leaves with fond memories of his successes like the FA cup run. BTW Hope they don't sign any more or my 8 fantasy spitfire players aren't going to pick up many points!!

Last night was awful really. Down to the players and injuries as well, but I think Todd used that as an excuse. Cheers Chris. Seems harsh to say Chris was using injuries and whatever else that has been happening as an excuse. We have a big enough squad to cope with injuries. I would just hope that Chris doesn't read the derogatory posts here and on FB. He's been through so much and is quite an inspiration. Good luck Toddy.

He said in his final hours that he's got players out injured, and he only had 20 players at his disposal. His words. It seemed to me that when we won it was in spite of his lack of tactical knowledge, and when we lost it was precisely because of that. Anyway, that chapter is closed now. Moving swiftly on..........

I have to say I wasn't surprised to see toddy go having watched most games and going back to pre season games, some of the trialists we had were in my opinion good enough to be given a contract I also heard 1 in particular was told by him he liked him but did not want an attacking inventive midfielder he wanted someone alongside Dukes who could kick people.Maybe this is why we do not score enough we want to kick our way out of this league not the way I would like to go up. The trialist I was on about was a lad released by Bournemouth I think his name was Josh something I think sunny Saturdays said he had gone to Gosport if not we should have another look at him.
