Just appoint someone to the end of the season on a short term Deal. I think that’s the thing to do now. Didn't we just do that? That's why I think Jason will be in charge for a while. I think we need to be realistic about who will come here. We need a massive clearout over the summer (again) and need to make sure we're still in the National League next season. It's still so tight in the table, with eleven points separating places 10-23, that as long as we start winning games again we should be fine. However, we need a new mindset in order to start doing that. The front three, who were so good before Christmas, look knackered. The defence was also one of our strong areas and now it isn't. If we're going to have a DoF with all the power that RH had then I'd go for Tisdale, as I said earlier. We also need to make sure more development players get through to the first team, instead of into the Southern or Wessex leagues. I think Tisdale can do that. Manager-wise, as long as we are still in the NL, we should look for a young, hungry manager. and young, hungry players.

Well, we've got a new manager - Kelvin Davis. Welcome and good luck! Not Jason (so much for what I just said)! Bit of a bolt out of the blue. Not a lot of managerial experience - does he qualify as 'young and hungry'? Maybe. for those of you who haven't caught up with his progress recently... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin_Davis_(footballer)What's he been doing in the couple of years since he left Saints?

Love the Wikipedia info on Butterfield that he was a makeshift striker for a Crystal Palace FA Cup Replayy with Wolves and scored the clubs fastest ever hat trick in 6 minutes. Manager Neil Warnock said he o ly played him up front because his wife Sharon had a dream the night before that he played in that position and scored.
Makes you wonder if all Warnock's success has been actually down to Sharon's dreams and team selections 😀

To be fair I wouldn't have been too opposed if Butterfield was appointed manager so I think it's a coup that we got him as assistant. I'm happy with the new appointments!!

Not many goalkeepers have been successful Managers, but Tim Flowers did OK at Solihull Moors for a while. The club has clearly been lining this appointment up for a while and both KD & DB have plenty of experience, albeit not at NL level. The appointment is to the end of the season, so they have 13 games to turn the club's fortunes around. Let's all hope they have success enough to be offered longer-term contracts during the summer.

Dino Zoff heads the list surely. Then yeah the two mentioned above, also Julen Lopetegui, Raymond Goethals, Mike Walker

Played well for every club he was at except SAFC where he had a nightmare season. Good Luck to him and I hope he gets off to a very good start tomorrow night at Oxford City, where surely anything less than a win would be very disappointing.

Not sure about this one. Proof will be in the pudding. Big gamble when you consider where Eastleigh are in the league.

www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24129910.southampton-fc-legend-davis-excited-eastleigh-manager/Looks like it is Kelvin Davis till the end of the season. It’s a left field appointment for sure but I’m cautiously optimistic. Arguably the new assistant Danny Butterfield is more experienced having worked at several clubs. It’s a relatively modest task IMO, less than a point a game needed to stay up from a squad that I think is good enough to be in the top half of this division. Hopefully the new pair will bring some extra defensive steel to the team.
