Just to put this in perspective despite being comfortably in mid table we now the the 3rd worst defensive record in the league.
In our last 23 games (all comps) we have conceded at least twice in 19 games.
looking at the bottom 4s last 23 games they have let in 2 as follows:
Solihull - 6 Chester - 11 Torquay - 11 Guiseley - 14

Every team playing against us now know where our weakness is. One ball over the top leaves us in trouble. Woods is often left far up the pitch and Cresswell is too slow. This leads to clumsy tackles giving gifts of free kicks, penalties and/or goals. I'm not sure we are comfortable where we are with most teams below us having played less games. We can easily drop another 5 or so league places with another 2 losses

Don't like to blame individuals but think stack was at fault again.like on Saturday when crosses came in he didn't look like getting to ANY of them.
We seemed to play a lot of balls once again in the air, pointless as there two centre backs were winning everything in the air.
Strange starting 11,ayo, Matthews, miley all on bench ..
But will still be going Tuesday

We need two new keepers, and both of them to be great keepers if we are to ever get out of this league. All the really good teams to have come down to the Silverlake over the last eight seasons have had great keepers, the type that keeps their team in the game when they don`t deserve to be, and we just haven`t had that. That is key to any promotion hopeful squad.

Must agree about the Keepers, neither Ross not Stack have had much of a season so that is definitely an area to strenghten in

The immediate concern is to obtain 52 points which will keep us in this league next season. We don't need two new goalies next season, just a good back up for Childs, who is only going to get experience by playing so as soon as we hit the 52 or are safe prior to that number then let Childs play out the reminder of the season. The defence will no doubt have a major overall and no doubt AH is looking for players with pace at the back first, rather than experience, ideally you have both attributes but pace is an absolute given priority. If the word is true about having a salary cap next season then the odds are we will be getting a much younger group together next season...if Torquay are relegated we should be ready to pounce on some of them, Myles Anderson and Sean McGinty could be good additions in the right age group too.

I agree that we don't need two new goalies next season.
Personally, not so sure that Childs should be no.1, though, but a good idea to let him play a few games the rest of this season.
If a team gets relegated, surely their defence isn't very good?! Having said that,, the two players you mention have interesting backgrounds, are young, and did form a good defensive partnership last season to help keep Torquay up, according to their forum.
Anderson has left Torquay, his official status is: 'Chester FC have signed defender Myles Anderson on a deal until the end of the season after an unnamed sponsor offered to pay his wages and expenses for the rest of the season'.

echo the comments about greener, was player of the season last season?
would also like a new keeper, though Ryan Clarke last season was decent, so maybe someone like that

The immediate concern is to obtain 52 points which will keep us in this league next season. Sums it up. If we can't sort our defence out over the remaining games, sorry to say it, but there will have to be some big changes in the summer. Not over stating it to say we are in crisis, certainly defensively. The goals conceded is simply unbelievable.
