Deserved better than the draw. Ref had a shocker and their player looked as if he slipped up rather than any EFC player touching him. No Torquay player appealed for it and the ref was 20 yards behind play. Refreshingly more expansive than under RH but we still need a change in personnel on the pitch before we move forwards.

Yeah it was ok. Nothing great and anybody going for the first time wouldnt have been dying to return I’m sure. Two poor teams, awful conditions, draw totally fair

Dreadful penalty decision. One sage said at 2pm that we would have trouble with that referee and how right he was.
If the rain had started half an hour earlier, the game would have been stopped at half-time. Last 10 minutes was a total farce. There was more water than at the Bolton match.
More Heavy rain all evening and again tomorrow morning. Clear for Thursday but more heavy rain again forecast for Friday night, so the Woking game may be in doubt.

Game wasn't bad considering the conditions. The pitch played really well, but I agree that it wouldn't have taken another 30 minutes of that rain and there were puddles near the end.
I thought that Torquay were surprisingly good considering their league position, and looked dangerous on the break. Their three central defenders neutralised our two attackers pretty effectively. Lots of effort by the Eastleigh lads, I thought a draw was a fair result. Torquay had to defend deeper after the sending off (incredibly stupid decision by their defender to pull someone back when already on a yellow card) and we had a few chances, but they blocked most things well. Was the penalty outside the area? It looked like it might have been from our viewpoint. Great turnout by Torquay - 254 fans who gave great support throughout.
Agree that the ref was dreadful. Two terrible free-kick decisions just before the break, he seemed to blow up everything Miley did. There was one incident in the second half when the Torquay player tried a pirouette with the ball and slipped over, with no home player near him. Free kick given.
Fair entertainment today, I'd say. hope the pitch recovers in time for Woking (just Friday to watch out for) - I'm sure they'll be up for it.

Shame we couldn’t have won, having played against 10 men.
Should be able to beat Woking though, they are rubbish at the moment

Hard to judge a team in those conditions. Fair result all in all

No clean sheet since 9th Sept and Home win since 21 Oct, but things are looking better for the Spitfires. Far more positive approach to the game than in the past, only let down by a very dodgy referee decision and both sides stymied by the conditions. Overall, not a bad game and a fair result (penalty decision aside),Torquay look too good a side to go down. Great attendance by their supporters. Best bits today were Cav Miley and the pitch. Despite the rain and sitting water in places, it didn't cut up very much & looked pretty good at the end of the game. COYS.

Looked like it landed in one of the photographers equipment cases.
These idiots really are a curse of modern football. The smoke is dangerous to anyone with asthma or sufferers of other respiratory illnesses.
