Men's hockey is well represented in Britain - they won an Olympic gold not that long ago. Teams like Havant and Fareham have been quite successful nationally. Netball is not dissimilar to basketball. Not sure there's anywhere that charges for watching it? I remember enduring mens' equestrian events during the Olympics while waiting for something else to come on (in which GB gained several golds). I've tried yoga and a bit of pilates - women are mostly in the majority, but have no problem with men taking part - treated as equals We sometimes do bowls as a work do and it's good fun. If you haven't tried any of these things than i can recommend some of them.
As I said in my first post, they are trying to get more spectators and have identified a group that has potential to increase. So they try and attract them by offering free entry - as a one-off.
We sometimes offer free entry to youth football teams - something you should be happy with, with your coaching experience.
Still struggling to see the difference.

I think what most people object to is discrimatiom of any kind. Presumably you, and the Sutton fans totally agree with all male/female/black/disabled lists for employment to make up the quota? It’s can’t be just about spotting a gap and giving it away, how about ginger prople? Homosexuals? The disabled? all heavily under represented at matches-another freebie gap? Or is it just ‘certain’ groups that qualify?

I think you have misunderstood the changing nature of the world Will, most people now see right through middle/late middle aged, over privileged white men, who think they are hard done by and are missing out on something that they should be entitled to, because they have been so entitled their whole life. Sutton letting ladies in for free will have an effect on maybe 100 people positively tomorrow and will have no negative effect on anybody, whereas the comments from you and others on this topic paint a very seedy picture of what is important in the life of an Eastleigh fan.
Also have a look at your spelling, take some pride in your posts!

Lists to make up quotas? No, I'm against that. I'm more for changing the underlying system to give all groups a more equal chance of succeeding.
As I said, I think Sutton's decision is a business decision, aimed at a gap in the market. If they thought it would work with ginger people, then they'd try it. Fair enough. If they can get a few more fans coming regularly, then it's worked. I think all clubs already have a policy for disabled spectators, and facilities, and sometimes for their carers.
Other groups - OAP rates, season ticket holders getting a better deal than casual visitors, etc., have been mentioned several times on here.
I regard my season ticket as being a business deal between myself and the club - I pay to watch a decent level of football in decent facilities, at a price I'm willing to pay. Whatever other offers the club chooses to put forward doesn't affect my original deal, unless the nature or frequency of those offers, devalues my deal (in my opinion). In which case I can choose not to renew my season ticket.
Personally I don't feel so far that occasional offers, targetted at certain groups, devalues my deal too much. I'm already getting a decent deal. Although as for the entertainment value I'm getting this season...

The Sutton fans have noted your comments.....personally, I think they make some reasonable points. Should intensify the atmosphere tomorrow, anyway! suttonunited.proboards.com/thread/9010/ladies-dayWonder what the Eastleigh FC Ladies' team think about the comments in this thread? We really are the most unpopular club in the National league aren't we. Love it. ''We are Beastleigh, no-one likes us, we don't care''

Told you ages ago, we should adopt the Beasts as our nickname, and play Iron Maiden's '666 - the Number of the Beast' as we walk out!
Do a Millwall :-)

Think you are guilty of over egging it a bit Bomber, I suspect, truth be told, no-one else thinks much of us at all, except when they have got to play us and then the standard money comments come out!

This thread is the biggest load of rubbish i've read in a long time. I couldn't care less what Sutton fc do. If they choose to have a ladies day fair play to them. If our ladies get in for free fareplay to them to. I'm over 60 -do I say its not fair I wanna pay full price. Of course I don't. So all this thread will do is inflame animosity between 2 sets of supporters. I just want to go there 2mrw and watch a decent game of football. I want to be able to talk with Sutton fc supporters about football-not be treated like i'm s###t just because i choose to support EFC. So Sutton FC you do whatever deals you like and for god sake don't think all EFC supporters r thick bigoted idiots with nothing meaningful to say

Have to say this thread is hilarious - as is the reaction on Sutton’s forum. Malc is correct in that positive action is totally different from both direct and indirect discrimination.
Let’s rename the forum “what should Easteigh fans moan about next”. Cheer up folks 🤣

Well, I personally think we need more men at the following so I’m expecting to get into these events free in the future: hockey, netball and equestrian events. I think men are also vastly under represented at yoga, Pilates and dance sessions so again, look forward to that changing in the future. I think we need also more teenagers at the world crown green bowls championship so obviously free admission for them too. Your welcome at the next Eastleigh Ladies game which you can get into for FREE

I personally don`t care how much SUFC charge for gaining entry into Gander Green Lane. The mighty Spitfires will complete our first double of the season. The more people that see it, the better. COYS
