I am absolutely buzzing for this weekend. I'm expecting a decent sized crowd with quite a few away fans with their free entry. Also the bring a friend deal in place we could see over 3,000 tomorrow. With saints at home it's a bit of a shame as I think many more might have come but oh well, all good. I'm sure the lads will put on a great display and bag a few goals.
Lets get behind the team, let's get behind RH and his management team and think about last saturdays brilliant win. Only 6 points off the plays offs with a game in hand, it's shaping up to be one hell of a season!!
I'm going 2-0 to the blues!

Yes, hopefully a really decent advertisement for the club.

Play like they did against Macclesfield and I see a comfortable home win.

There is nothing on the EFC website about the bring a friend deal?? www.eastleighfc.com/matchday-arrangements-chester-fc/

You would have thought the new media team would be all over this pushing it every few hours to make sure everyone sees it. Posted on twitter today (Friday) saying that it is definitely bring a friend or 2 on your season tickets using vouchers A and B!

Think 3000 is optimistic but you never know. We are the only league game today so good chance to move up the table

That was an enjoyable first half. Ross passing to the full backs is a nice change, Beano looks good up front. Miley has been great in the middle and seems to be getting better every game, so much for the young players not getting a chance with RH. Now lets not give them any more chances (Chester that is😅😅)

Almost a carbon copy of the Gateshead game, but no get out of jail card this time. Can’t hold on to the ball to see a game out, lack of pace and yet again poor substitutions who rather than helped see the game out - hindered it. This team is going nowhere but mid table, inconsistency is our one definite.

Thought first 60 mins was some of the best football seen all season. We were passing it round well, stringing more than 3 passes together and picking it up well from the goalkicks. Still some dodgy moments though. Then the inevitable happened. It's like fear football and we just sit too deep and invite pressure. Not sure whether it's because we run out of steam or it's just a mental thing. Every minute of time we waste whilst winning know it's going to come back and bite us on the a$$. Still, entertaining game and I'd rather watch games like that than the aldershot 0-0 for example

Their 'keeper must've been the most bored person in Britain second half. We were flatter than a witches tit.

Another utterly bizarre performance . Took a friend and he just couldn’t understand how we can retreat so much at home. Second Half really bag again. Still, as said, quite entertaining which to me is the most important thing.

Looked pretty good for 60 minutes, against a team I see being relegated at the end of the season. Once Chester scored there was only one team in it, and the only surprise was it took them so long to get the second goal. Three things stand out for me about that performance;
1) We lack pace. I know I say this every week, and I'll keep saying it until we do something about it. Okay Yates showed a bit of pace on occasions, but in every area of the pitch we lack pace. Every game we play I am seeing a team with a lot more pace than us, and its how they are getting back into games.
2) Once Chester scored, we seemed to completely lack confidence. We retreated 20 yards, and once we brought CM on, we were playing without a striker. You could feel the nerves permeate the whole side. Do we need a psychologist?
3) In the last 20 minutes, we looked absolutely exhausted. Dare I say it we looked unfit, or maybe we just had a bunch of players carrying injuries.
Sorry but whichever way you cut it, this isn't good enough.

I thought the quality of the game (apart from our second goal) was really poor - both teams struggled to control the ball, leading to slow buildups.
Agree with the above comments - we had the advantage for an hour, but as soon as the second goal went in, we gifted Chester the initiative completely. Despite their brave comeback, I thought they weren't a particularly good team and could finish in the bottom four unless they improve a lot. I gather the (fairly) new manager is turning things round, and this result will be a big boost for them.
Ross made a couple of howlers and made a couple of great saves. Howe and Boyce looked pretty good again, the full-backs weren't too disastrous. Hollands seemed to be playing further back and Miley further forward, which seemed to work well, especially in the first hour. Williamson was his usual self up front and scored yet another goal. Yeates continued his recent good form and his cross for the second goal was excellent.
Still no idea why the last half hour went the way it did - did we run out of steam? Did we just change tactics, look to see the game out, and fail miserably? Such a turnaround. By the way, from my viewpoint the move leading up to the corner for their equaliser looked well offside - would like to see a replay of that. Still doesn't mean we should let their bloke head it in.
I estimated about 1500 in the ground - Saints at home (sounds like we had better entertainment than them) and Christmas shopping (ditto) were the reasons I couldn't donate my season-ticket vouchers.
