Just to mention the weather forecast is pretty poor for Saturday. Gale warnings and rain most of the day.
I expect if there's any doubt about the match being on we'll hear it pretty early, especially given the distance the Heed have to travel :-)
We need to get back in the saddle after last Saturday; they're only two points and two places above us (and we have a game in hand) with one win and six draws in their last ten league games. But they did win a tricky FA Cup game at Buxton on Saturday to move into the first round.
Important game, tricky game - previous matches between the two have been good down here. I'll go for it being another draw (if we play).

Likely to be a late decision as to whether the game is played or not. The Heed will either travel down on Friday, in which case they'll already be here, or leave early Sat morning. Not much rain to speak of before Saturday, whatever we get to affect the game, will be on the day. Not much the club can do to prepare for what weather we get, so it's a question of just hoping the game goes ahead. Could be a bit wet in the ex-shed.

A storm will certainly be coming for Hill if we lose again.

Story of the modern day ineffectual leader; clinging on just to stay in the trappings of power.

Let’s hope it goes ahead, I think we’d take the weather being a leveller for us at the moment!
I’m going for a scrappy 1-0 to the Spitfires but a performance that doesn’t convince the doubtful amongst us.

Hill will continue to take money as long as he can. Totally out of his depth and incapable of inspiring the team. Sunday league manager could employ the same tactics and style he puts out every week

You should do a gig at The Hangar Will, maybe even a residency... "trappings of power" he's Manager of Eastleigh FC, not sure SD has installed a gold elevator to his office yet 😆😆

Well, probably earning between 3 and 4 times the average working man in Eastleigh for doing an appalling job.

Stupid thing is Will if you don't like it you can just leave it.
No one is making you attend there are plenty of other options as you proved with your absence last weekend.
Just stop going, the money you have spent on a season ticket is surely not a great miss to a man of your stature and if you want to continue spreading your very common brand of poison there are plenty of opportunities in our society because people like you have made it that way.
If RH was to leave you would just start on again with the next encumbent because that is what poisonous people do.
Move along Sir there is nothing for you here.

Poison? Ha, saying what most people on here are now openly admitting; that they’re disappointed with the playing style, tactics, performances and results and that I think hill should go. I suggest westend if we all ‘move along’ (stupid phrase) the club would be in a even worse position. Grow up and let people say what they want on an opinion forum.

Thing is Will you are not saying what other people are admitting.
There are plenty of people making valid points and the measure I would use is would they be comfortable saying the same thing and asking the question of the Manager face to face, in most cases the answer would be yes. However your personal, abusive comments, made on this thread and others do not pass this test, they are just the ramblings of a keyboard bully and nothing to do with supporting the club.
You then make a statement saying what other people are saying, to justify your diatribe! Did you stand for UKIP in the last General Election?
If you are happy to go to RH on Saturday and tell him your thoughts as above then go for it, but in all honesty you are a keyboard warrior who for some reason wants to bully people he does not know and never will, unfortunately that is a poison that is hard to get rid of as people will believe your comments about 'trappings of power' and 'earning more then the working man', as has been proved in recent years, even though they are completely made up.
You are perfectly entitled to say what you want on a forum, as I am perfectly entitled to disagree with it and will do as long as it is not an opinion but made up insults. As you say it is an 'opinion forum' so stick to opinions not hate.

Most recent threads on this forum have now ended in a discussion about RH, his job, etc.
I put the thread on to discuss Saturday's game in particular (the clue's in the title), I'm finding it a bit annoying when threads get hijacked.
I thought we had a thread to discuss RH, called 'Richard Hill'. Maybe it would be better if people used that instead? Just my opinion.

I just hope that if the pitch is unplayable due to the rain and given the Chester debacle, that the club don't leave it too late to call it off otherwise I can imagine that there would be a whole bucketful of trouble!

If the pitch is unplayable I don't think it is down to the club to make a decision. Surely it's down to the officials, if clubs could make decisions in that manner it could be open to all sorts of shenanigans. Looking at the forecast the worst of the weather is due from mid morning Saturday so not likely to be an early cancellation, probably a good test for the work that has been done, if it cannot cope with a little weather now then we have real issues in Jan/Feb time.

The wind speed forecast looks pretty bad too. Might help our long-ball game (at least in one half) ;-)
As I said at the time of the Chester game, surely the procedure for pitch inspections needs to be looked at, for a 'national' league particularly.
It seems crazy that a) an earlier local ref's opinion can be completely overturned on the day, even if nothing material's changed, b) if the match ref's decision is final, why shouldn't they come earlier if there is any doubt?
I'm not referring specifically to Eastleigh here, I'm talking about generally. Gateshead's team may or may not be staying in a hotel overnight, no guarantee the fans will be.
But as you say, if the bad weather is coming in during the day, it may have to be a late decision this Saturday.
