Sorry to raise this Has anyone had any definite news about the car parking tickets for 2017/18 ? Club has twice told me that they were in the process of getting them out but then nothing.

I just phoned the club - I haven't received my season ticket yet - they said that they have sent me both my season ticket and car parking ticket together.
Hopefully I'll receive them in the next few days....

Don't want to worry you but my season ticket was sent to my son's current address 40 plus miles away. That was over a week ago. Luckily I have seen him since and got the season ticket safely in my hands now. I didn't get my parking pass with the season ticket though and am assuming no one else has as it hasn't been mentioned.

Thanks back4more, they assured me they'd sent it out a week ago and if I hadn't got it by early next week I should phone them again and they'd resend it. I could say that I would have picked it up at one of the home pre-season games but they've all been cancelled (apart from one) ;-) But I'd be lying because I wasn't going to any anyway.

Lets get the Car Parking thread going again !!!
What a shambles ! Today I drove up Stoneham Lane at 2.15, showing my Car Parking pass to all.
When I entered the car park I was told to park the other end of the ground, next to the away supporters.
I spoke to the steward and asked why I could not park in one of the many empty spaces on the right hand side of the car park entrance, he told me they were £5 and for pay on the day.
I replied, I did not think you were allowed to drive up Stoneham Lane without a Car Park Pass, let alone pay on the gate for a prime parking space.
What is going on? Does anyone know? Why can not the Car Park Pass Holders park in the Prime Parking Spaces and let others park miles away!!!!!

Personally I have found the parking to be excellent this season. Always plenty of choice in the area around where I normally park getting there between 2 and 2.15.
Assume if you tell the people at the road stops that you are going up to pay a fiver they let you through.

I totally agree with the comments of liongeezer. my wife and myself are season ticket holders in the blue stand and have a parking permit. we actually do a 50mile roundtrip for all home matches. when we arrived at the ground at 2.15 the stewards directed us to park around the back. I queried this as there were empty places in the first lane. I was told if I wanted to park there it would cost me £5. as I have already purchased a parking permit I declined. I then parked around the back which is the opposite side of the ground for us. after the match we stayed in our seats for 10 minutes for the crowd to disperse. we then proceeded to the car park and came across 500 Aldershot fans approaching us as they were leaving the ground. we reached our car and had a further 15 minute wait. eventually we left the ground in a convoy which then jammed up stoneham lane at the end. I eventually arrived home at 6.25 I have rang the club about the parking problem and am waiting a return call. surely a simple solution is for permit holders to have the prime spots and the casual fans who pay £5 to be allocated parking at the back of the ground

I find it hard to understand, on a hot day, as it was on Monday, why Stewart was not sat in an Ice Cream van handing out free 99's (with a flake) to all those hardy souls who came to the game. It's just not right, does he not understand the sacrifices we make to support this team.

I get to ground normally about 1.45, and have always parked where I want. It makes complete sense to me that permit holders park where they want/can and those paying park elsewhere. Having said that, maybe it should be the same for everyone, park where you want & later arrivals go to the far side, next to Stoneham Way.

I made my first post ever concerning the car parking issue. your remarks suggest sarcasm. my post was asking a possible resolution to the matter. please tell me and others how to resolve the matter. don't tell me and others to arrive at the ground 3 hours before

Sorry Dutch didn't mean to suggest sarcasm! I'm not really in a position to resolve the matter if I'm honest, but would suggest that you won't have the problem of 500 Aldershot fans blocking your way for the rest of the season so no need to worry about that one again. As for priority parking, did you read the terms and conditions when you purchased the item? If so and it was clear that for £2 a game you would have priority over those paying £5 a game then maybe Trading Standards might be a good starting point www.tradingstandards.uk/consumers/support-advice copy and paste the link if it will help. Otherwise there is that nice man from Watchdog on his motorbike, he spends his days righting wrongs and I'm sure would be horrified at the way you have been treated. Bad news about the free games today, can you imagine the extra car parking that will be required....sad.
