I still don't understand why there is no attempt to separate pedestrians from cars at the end of the game.
I'm sure paths could be made for pedestrians around the edge of the parking area (like they do in supermarkets) - combining the two groups is an accident waiting to happen. Also separate paths might allow cars to be allowed out earlier.
I don't particularly like the £5 'priority' area either, but as westendspitfire says it is a fact of life, and for me it's another sign that the 'Corporate Silverlake' is on the way. The only real problem I have with the £5 area is that that there are no clear signs that the area is reserved for the payers. I know that the stewards do their best to point you elsewhere, but having better signs would make it clearer and make their job easier. Having been there a few times, I expect the area now, but it would have been nice to have been told beforehand.

I find it hard to understand, on a hot day, as it was on Monday, why Stewart was not sat in an Ice Cream van handing out free 99's (with a flake) to all those hardy souls who came to the game. It's just not right, does he not understand the sacrifices we make to support this team. I made my first post ever concerning the car parking issue. your remarks suggest sarcasm. my post was asking a possible resolution to the matter. please tell me and others how to resolve the matter. don't tell me and others to arrive at the ground 3 hours before
To be honest, dutch, we posters to the forum can only make suggestions, serious, helpful or otherwise. My suggestion to you is to contact the club on 02380613361, Kenny Amor is the guy to speak to & chat through your problems with him. Whilst it's understood the club does monitor our fora, you'll very rarely get a reply to concerns on here, so going direct to the club is the best way to make your feelings known.

hi westendfire you mention trading standards etc. absolute rubbish the issue is that permit holders have prime parking and casual parkers{ £5 }go to back of the ground.

Also when we went to get a cold drink at half time they'd practically run out. Lost revenue?

I have today received a phone call from mr AMOR in reply to my complaint. he is a genuine guy . I appreciated his time explaining there had been a problem with the parking for permit holders.hopefully next time we will have no problems?

The revised system isn't working well but the real issue is the fact we have just one vehicle entrance. It wasn't a problem when we had average home gates of around 600 but clearly is struggling with present 1,800/2,000 gates, made worse on a Tuesday night when fans arrive before the contract day parkers leave.

I really don't get this, there are now plenty of spaces but people seem to still want to live in the "Wessex" world and be home five minutes after the final whistle. If you do not get a space then I can understand being pizzed off but if it takes twenty minutes to get out of the club then that is just an overhead of success.

Given the weather forecast I'm going to pay my fiver and park at the ground tonight. Am I correct in thinking that a steward with a brolly will meet us at the car and make sure we get to the bar without getting wet? Seems good value for a fiver....

Set a personal best last night - back home in Hedge End at one minute before 10pm - less than a 5 minute wait to get out of the ground after the final whistle and never had to stop in Stoneham Lane at all, even all the traffic lights were green. Suggests that the real attendance was a lot lower than the 1820 announced - season ticket no-shows due to the weather?

I reckon it was about 1500. Still good considering the weather, agree about the season ticket no-shows, noticed a few around us.
Dutch - what problems with the parking were supposed to have been resolved? I didn't notice any changes last night, although, like taylov, getting out seemed to go a bit quicker, due to the smaller crowd.

First time I parked at the ground for about 3 years last night and it was an absolute breeze, if it wasn't for the health benefits of making myself walk a couple of miles to park for free it would be a very easy option every game. Do feel sorry for those that have to walk down the Lane towards Swaythling in the dark though, got to be an accident waiting to happen.
