certainly didn't see us 'struggling against 10 men'. What game were you watching fella? Same game as you 'fella' except I was looking for positivity rather than all the negative rubbish on here. #glasshalffull

I think that the question regarding Spencer Trethewy is probably being asked rhetorically, but if that is not the case he has changed his name to Spencer Day who is currently manager of Farnborough. I think I recall he generated a lot of publicity a couple of seasons ago when it was announced he would change his name again, this time to Jose Mourinho. I think it was part of an intended Paddy Power inspired stunt. We also had a thread going on here about him when Farnborough were facing their well documented financial issues.

Aldershot - a club twice going into administration and I read a few months ago there were struggling financially and could have to do so again. So over the last couple of decades loads of people have been effectively robbed, by this football club. I never want any club to go out of business, but clubs who don't pay their way, and shaft dozens if not hundreds of ordinary working people, have absolutely no right to tell me what a crap club I support. Were I an Aldershot fan, I would be embarrassed and ashamed of the club I supported, and I would also be doing my best to ensure the debts they accumulated were paid off. So to the Aldershot fan posting rubbish on his forum, how about you put a sock in your gob, put your hand in your pocket and start to be pay off the debts you still owe, and will always owe until settled. PS You still haven't beaten us - ha bloody ha! Its interesting that you think football supporters should pay of the debts of the football club they support. So if your owner pulls out and leaves lots of debt either to the tax man or to other creditors you will be rushing in there to pay their debts off then?
You should also note that Shots supporters (including me) raised over £80k to pay off certain debts to save the club at the last gasp, you are plainly total ignorant to this!
Unfortunately we are all pawns in the games the owners play and we were unfortunate to get an idiot owner involved for a few years that got us to where we were. The Football League is a difficult place to operate with the costs involved and the requirements heaped on you about your ground etc....but you wouldn't know about that of course!

I really can't understand this mantra about people being 'negative' -the situation we are in is truly awful and not even Joseph Goebbels, Alistair Campbell and Peter Mandelson could put a spin on this. Worst current form of anybody in the league. Players who don't know each others names. Dwindling crowds. An owner whose lot the plot. An ex manager who wasn't good enough before but is suddenly Sir Alex Ferguson. Strikers who cant score. Why are people trying to dress this up at all? Would these wonderfully positive people have told Hitler in the last few days in the bunker surrounded by Allied troops 'Its ok Mein Fuhrer we still have 13 year old boys with carving knives defending the city'

You keep having a troll/stir, don't you, willk? The rest of us know things are not great at the moment, but some of your comments are inaccurate/OTT. I haven't got time to answer the statments you make, but what would you do now? Stop supporting the club, & keep moaning? What do you suggest for the future of our club?
The rest of us will continue to back the club as we have always done, knowledgeable of its shortcomings but having a positive outlook & confidence that we will stay in the NL & rebuild in the summer for next season. Hopefully SD will learn from past mistakes & guide the club to its medium term (however long that may be) goal of the EFL.

Just so you know. Yes I would be putting my hand in my pocket to assist in paying off the debt, and I would organise our supporters to do likewise. I would not rest comfortably until our debts had been paid in full. If EFC ended up with unpaid debts to ordinary people, which couldn't be repaid, I would stop supporting the club.

With respect to the Paddy Power stunt I believe we signed Reece Connolly later that season and I believe that Reece had previously changed his name to Gary Lineker.

Stew has already said he won't walk away, and when he eventually does he'll give it to one of his kids! so we don't ever need to worry about this...

I am not sure whether we can be sure at this stage whether any of Stewart's family would be interested in taking over the club if the situation arose.
One thing though I think is true is that things change quickly in football. I believe we recently said that we would not be appointing a Director of football in the immediate future, and a thread was recently started up on this forum relating to believing in Martin Allen/
