Hopefully the safe pair of hands needed to steer us back on the right track. We now need him to help SD get the right manager/coach as well.

He's going to be managing the team as well, so happy! I loved the way we played football under him and was gutted when he left! I hope he brings back Greener, I can't imagine he will be happy with playing the left backs we have with his good old loyal servant watching with the fans rather than on the pitch!!!

I'm clearly an expert, within minutes of posting that he has returned... Maybe I should have a go at managing the team. Anyone else fancy a few games before the end of the season? I'm sure the manager's job will be vacant sooner or later!!

And there's a full statement about it all on the club's website, including apologies from SD, which he didn't have to do. I have to say that IMHO, this is a solid appointment. RH is trusted & admired by many at EFC & hopefully will steady the ship. Many are not fans of a DOF in theory (& a certain one in particular), but with RH's knowledge, he can get the right man in for next season & plan properly with him. I'd prefer to see next.season as one of consolidation in th NL, assuming we can stay up. The stadium is still some way off ready for the EFL & maybe that should be a priority for a couple of years.

The statement from the Chairmans says it all. He has apologised for his mistakes but he really shouldn't have to. I feel sorry that he has been so let down by Martin Allen. His clear out of the old team was totally ill judged. Rather than build on what we had he has replaced them with players who are sub-standard and reduced our team to playing hoof ball. Allen has caused huge damage to this club in the short term. Good luck Richard, its the right decision in the short term for the club to go back to who we can trust and to build a sense of unity again,

For me this is a poor decision motivated by panic. Let's all hope it works out, can't see it though.

Think I'm right in saying that we can still trade/sign players till the end of March. Gives us a little wriggle room for improvements to the squad. Darius Henderson was at the game last night, so hopefully he might be fit soon.
Task for Rendel, or someone with too much time on their hands................list all transfer comings & goings this season, including loans in & out, players and clubs.
