Think I'm right in saying that we can still trade/sign players till the end of March. Gives us a little wriggle room for improvements to the squad. Darius Henderson was at the game last night, so hopefully he might be fit soon. Task for Rendel, or someone with too much time on their hands................list all transfer comings & goings this season, including loans in & out, players and clubs. Is there a word count for posts? You might reach it with that list...

A statement like that from Stewert just shows what a great man we have in charge. Yes, he has made mistakes but I commend his bravery in admitting responsibility, which is re-assuring. Likewise we need to do so as fans and get behind the team on match days.
Glad that we are not rushing into long term decision straight away, and of course very happy to have Greener back.

Decisive action by SD, which will hopefully stabilise things at the club and get all fans onside.
Yes, there will be a lot of things to clear out and change, so patience and support will be needed.....but there should now be optimism and momentum to see us move forward. Good luck to the new regime!
And thanks to Stewart for telling us so quickly what was happening, and taking steps to improve things. I'll add my name to the many who think there is no need for him to apologise - everyone on here knows what he means to the club, and what it means to him. A lot of us also saw RM and MA as good appointments, sometimes it just doesn't work out.

So now as a club we move on under Richard Hill who achieved success previously. Please can we ALL give him time before we call for further changes in the next few months. Results will not be instant and Richard has a lot of work to do to build confidence in the team, something I really feel has been bullied out of them recently. We will pick up points and I'm sure nothing would please Richard more than 3 points on Saturday. Lets really get behind the team now and push on.

Completely agree, lets also remember he's walking into find a mess of a squad which MA picked based on his own requirements which in the end didn't even meet those. its a Massive job for anyone. Hill needs nothing but support now.

Wow!
So Richard Hill is our new director of football and (and perhaps more relevantly at this moment in time) effectively our new caretaker manager. Seems like a decent choice given his knowledge of the club and - of course - superb record during his time at Eastleigh FC.
I suppose I have just one slight twinge of concern that his two roles could conflict (DOF and caretaker manager) but hopefully not. Its very hard to predict quite what will happen when, but that has been a real theme of this season.

I might be missing something Rendel but I don't understand where there could be any conflict. As DoF RH will be captain of the ship and as caretaker manager he will be on the bridge to try to steer us away from the iceberg bound course set by the previous manager. My understanding is that Stewart has simply put all football matters into Richard's hands which surely eliminates any conflicts and ensures that the team can be taken consistently in the right direction.
Looking at the overall situation though, I think we might need to be realistic with our expectations as the prioritisation of avoiding relegation might compromise our playing style to some extent initially. We will improve though and who knows, RH might even find some unexpected qualities in some of those players recruited by the previous three managers. As others have pointed out elsewhere, as long as they wear that Eastleigh shirt we need to support them 100%.

Glad RH is now DoF and with the caretaker role until the end of the season. Recent games had indicated that we were creating nothing and making lots of defensive errors which meant I could not see where any win was coming from, definitely relegation form. I don't care what RH does for playing style as long as we get enough points to stay up and he'll have my full support. We just need to ensure RH and SD get the right man to manage/coach the team next year in the National.

I thing I am a bit surprised hasn't been mentioned:
Richard Hill joined Aston Villa at the end of November.
Any ideas when/how/why he left them?!

As I see it, SD has given us Spitfires the WINGS to fly with but when RH left our PROPELLOR effectively fell off..... but now we've GOT IT BACK .... back to rebuild the Blue & White Army just as he did the first time!! Welcome back to the friendliest manager I, for one, have ever known at this club!

As RH has been your new manager for 2 days now does he get a long service medal? :-)
