Gutted again, but not as surprising as the Parts transfer was, would love to know the fees we are getting for our best players. Question is who's next? There is no doubt that MA will use the monies gained to build for next season going to be an exciting summer

on the OS now too..... Eastleigh Football Club can today confirm that they are in receipt of an acceptable offer from a Football League Club for their England C squad international midfielder Luke Coulson.
Coulson who joined Eastleigh this time last year from Oxford City has been the subject of two approaches so far this month which have been turned down, but the player has now been given permission to talk to the interested party following the offer.
We will keep spectators updated when appropriate.

Could be us?? We have just sold Luke Gambin to Luton and looking for someone like him? Also with all the money we have received from you guys of late and activity on incoming players since January window opened it wouldn't surprise me......
Allen has probably recommended him to us.....

Dream on barnetbee LC is going up the pyramid at more than one step at a time, wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with more money from his sale though

How much do you think he'll go for? If Parts has gone for somewhere between 50k and 100k then are we putting Luke in a similar bracket? I'd imagine it will be closer to 100k.

I would prefer we get a decent sell on clause. The difference between getting say 30K & 50K for a 1 of deal isn't that great in the bigger scheme of things, but a smaller fee with 20% or better sell on clause could bring us a much bigger wedge, with no disruption to our squad.

Spot on US, hopefully a decent sell on clause has been put in place.
If Luke can shine at a level or two above his value will obviously increase a substantial amount.
You only need to look at Charlie Austin from Poole - Swindon - Burnley.
Was it a 25% sell on for Swindon? Burnley bought him for £1M so Poole netted £250,000.
Wherever he goes, good luck to him - deserves to be playing league football, just a shame its not with us.

Interesting that the Coulson story broke this morning yet the transfer still hasn't been confirmed.
Odds on to be tomorrow one would think.

My question is this. If we were in the play offs right now would we be selling our best young players? I doubt the 'acceptable' offer for Coulson is outrageous so I ponder how far the Chairman's resolve would be tested if the league table was different right now? Are we already seeing the limit to his financial punch? That's no criticism by the way. If we are serious about the football league we need to be holding on to our best talent under pressure from football league clubs. Do we really have the financial clout to compete in the football league or do we need other investors to come on board to get us there and keep us there?

Do we really have the financial clout to compete in the football league or do we need other investors to come on board to get us there and keep us there? I think the question is, If we were in the play offs right now would our best young players be wanting to move? With the instability we've seen at the club this season, and the VERY realistic fact that we are not going to even make the playoffs this season, you can't blame the players for wanting to progress. We are not going up this season, and with this league so tough to get out of, there are certainly no guarantees we will go up next season, or the one after that even. If I were a young player wanting to progress my career, and faced the option of immediate progression into the FL or the possibility of sticking around and maybe getting there in a season or 2, or 3, I know what I would choose. The finances of our club have nothing to do with it in my mind. We are far from the only club from our league losing players to clubs higher up the pyramid. I think it is more the players ambition rather than SD's bank account that is dictating these moves.
