I'm gutted about this. Big gaping hole in the middle of our defence with Evans and Reid gone too.
Totally trust and believe in Todd and SD so will just see who comes in now. All new back line for us.

I'm fine about this. I thought he was often struggling for fitness, and we can and need to do better.

I dont think he ever hit the heights we were expecting, and he is capable of. So now we need 3 CH's.....2 to start and a decent one as back up!

I' m sorry to hear this, and very disappointed that he has decided to do this, especially after the way the club stuck with him with his injury problems when he first arrived.

Let's hope no FL club don't come calling for Partington now which is a big chance it will!!

Disappointed to hear this. Finding 3 Central Defenders of his quality or better will be a big task.
Isn't JP on contract? If so, it will take a fee for another club to prise him away from us.
Interesting that Stefan Payne has signed for Barnsley from Dover today. Quite a lot of movement in the market. It'd be good to see us make some signings soon.

That's a strange decision on his part considering Newport's dire end to the season.
They must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
I also am not convinced he was the answer for us long term anyway but the timing is a bother with the others having left.
Same time I heard this on Solent news they were also reporting Warren Bentley's move from Winchester to Gosport. It's a set back for Winchester but I would like to see him prove himself at Gosport.

Good luck to him. Looking forward to the new back four now. Perhaps Partington will move to the centre and it's who goes with him? Anyway Europa League Cup final is free on BT sport tonight.

How is Turley leaving now bad timing? It's perfect timing, we have the rest of May and the whole of June to sort out new signings and then July to bed them in and come the big kick off BANG away we go.

Fair play to him. He's stepping up to league football however they do. I hope we sign some lower level players with a hunger rather than counting down to retirement.

I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd released him.
A bit meh about this news.
Guess it means 1 more player on the shopping list!

I'm quite disappointed about his leaving, but not devastated. He had all the attributes, seemed to be forging a good partnership with Evans, played well with Reid, but had a few injuries and we still conceded a lot of goals last season compared to our rivals (apart from Dover, who conceded the same).
However, I'm wondering if he wanted to join a FL club now because he didn't see himself getting there soon enough with Eastleigh. Unless he has links with Newport/people there, it;s almost as if he joined the first FL team who asked. And I'm sure Newport need some defenders....
