Perfect opportunity to give young Oliver Dennett a starting place. I see similarities between him and James Constable in his prime, bit of pace, strong and eye for goal.
Desperately need 2-3 on loan, but I guess the budget is the budget and we AH will have to do with whoever's fit tomorrow.

I wasn't at the game on Saturday but went last night. From what I heard the first half Saturday was decent and for long periods of the game we were on top. Last night however we were beaten by an extremely organised Sutton team. Sutton will finish in the play offs no doubt about that. They pressed all over the pitch and were quicker, more physical and hungry to win the ball. Although it finished 1-0, it was very comfortable for them.
The squad is the squad we will have this season... all be it a couple from last year who I thought had a very poor season have been in the starting XI for the opening two games. It took 30 seconds of Cav coming on for us to actually shift the ball and string together a few passes...
It's only fair to give these players 10-12 games before commenting on performances, a point or three Saturday could kick us into gear...

Most important thing here.. 1 year contract.
If he has a good season he will more than likely earn himself a move to a football league club. If he has a poor season or it doesn't work out the club can get rid of him...
Look at the number of older pedigree players we have signed and how a few of them have turned out.
I think this is a great signing, 27 probably feels he has a point to prove...
Well done AH & BS, let's hope we see a few more similar to Oscar.

Hopefully a breath of fresh air now...
With RH gone AH can call the shots.. Let's hope he gives youth a chance, something we have lacked is legs in the team for a few years now...
We have the likes of Stacky, Reda, Cresswell, Hollands, Zebroski who have vast experience lets hope we see a few more younger signings who will be hungry, want to play and impress. Despite Cav Miley having a dip in form towards the end of the season (IMO) i thought he did very well and will be a very good player for us.
I'd cash out on a top 12 finish & decent cup run in either the FA Cup / Trophy.

I wish him every success at Sunderland, it won't be easy by any stretch but for him I really do hope it works out.

At the time RH 'stepped down' I said I would love to see Luke Garrard as manager at Eastleigh (No disrespect to AH who has done a great job so far since taking over and of course deserves a good shot at it next season). I expect Garrard to be extremely successful whether that's at Boreham Wood or elsewhere.
8pts off now, realistically I don't think we will do it but nothing to lose and I hope we give it a good go until the end of the season. Difficult conditions today, unfortunately for us Boreham Wood coped with the wind better than us.

AFCB were very good to watch, technically a lot better. Our lads gave a good account of themselves but never really threatened and once AFCB got the second the game was done.
Sat in the new stand, excellent view - stairs aren't right though? especially with terrace planned. Hopefully that will be amended in the close season..
Also a massive well done to those who have worked on the pitch but Dan Barnes & Blakey in particular for their efforts, we have had an awful lot of rain but the pitch played well Saturday and last night. Well done guys.
If that game was played last year on the pitch it would have been called off at 9am.
PROGRESS!

If that BBC interview with Derik could be played just before the match that would be amazing...
Whatever the club decide to do it will be a great opportunity to reflect on the incredible efforts of Derik.

You will be hard pressed to find anyone who has a bad word to say about this wonderful man, the word Legend is used to often to describe somebody but in Derik's case I cannot find an alternative...
Two things I remember watching Eastleigh as a kid with my dad in the Wessex league - the twix at half time from the tea hut and Derik announcing the teams on the tannoy!
A truly remarkable man and I should imagine he is proud to see the club in the pinnacle of non-league football.

Both took the club as far as they could, from what I gather when Dossie left he didn't leave it in the greatest of places financially so Murray & Malone must be thanked for the work they did to keep us as an established Conference South side. Donald has and will take us to the next level financially.
I remember a midweek game at Chelmsford we were 3-0 down at half time, Murray came over and apologised to the supporters. As Michael says, Paul Murray is a lovely man and Dave Malone somewhat controversial at times!

Problems on boxing day as well... as with all teams, the minority give their team a bad name. Still, they can enjoy their boxing day game against W-S-M next year if Truro get promotion.

Excellent news re Sam Matthews.
For me both him & Cav Miley have to be the first two names on the teamsheet
