Have Southend given the National League the £1million bond to play next season? If not, how much longer do they have to do so? Would be a shame to see them go under and start again like Bury did, way down the pyramid.

I'm sure they will be given yet another chance if they haven't paid it, like they usually are. I hate to see any club go under but they are taking the piss out of all the clubs that are well run. I expect their resident Spitfire Stalker will be on here telling us why they deserve preferential treatment AGAIN!

Takeover has been a long time coming. Completely agree with the VNL stance but the 1million bond was only required if Ron Martin was still owner of the club. The consortium had a offer accepted over a year ago and Ron Martin and family dug their heels in then we had to wait for the new council to review the deal on the table once this was revised all has been accepted. This will see us stay at roots hall and the ground developed. Embargo finally lifted, it will be a long road as the club have robbed Peter to pay Paul for years due to Ron Martin failings. We will hopefully see suppliers, the league and clubs start trusting the club again and Southend will hopefully return to the football league.
Last season with the points deduction and weeks of only having 12 players we were unfortunate to miss out on a playoff place but it become a stretch too far. This season will be very interesting.
Would expect Barnet to be up there and cannot write off Braintree their summer dealings have been unreal. Look forward to the season ahead
