Hopefully we won't need to win that one. Halifax looked very good against Chesterfield this midweek and are likely to be in or around the playoffs.
For those looking for an easy double, another potentially important match with AFC Stoneham v AFC Portchester down the road at 1500.

Really hope we are safe by the final day. Was hoping if might be a decent fixture as Halifax will have confirmed a playoff place or be confirmed as missing out. Time will tell!

I remember one season under Mr Doswell in the connie south, that we only made sure of survival on the penultimate game of the season, second to last, for those who are unsure !

Bishops Stortford at home on Thursday then Yeading away on the Saturday? Memory failing but we drew a silly amount towards the end of that season

AS in our first six seasons in the Conference South we finished in the top half of the table five times 2006/07 must be the year in question. Paul Doswell was manager at the start of that season, but later became Director of Football with Jason Dodd as manager. That season we went into the penultimate Saturday of the season seven points ahead of third from bottom Hayes and nine points ahead of second from bottom Weston Super Mare withy other teams between us in the bottom three.
Al teams had three games to play, but we drew with Weston Super Mare and Hayes also drew do were safe. WE would not have gone down anyway as Hayes merg4ed with Yeading and Weston Super Mar4e re were also reprieved as a result of Farnborough who finished in 11th place folding.

I think I may have misled people here. The information I used was obtained came from the 2008 non-league directory which gives results for the 2006/07 season. Unfortunately in the case of Hayes unlike other clubs for some reason it gives their their results for 2005/06, which I think means that they could have caught us with two games to go.
I think the information about the merger of Hayes and Yeading and the Weston Super Mare/Farnborough situation is correct though.
