Dreadful. One-paced and lacking in ideas. Back five are tasked with passing the ball and creating chances, and they are mostly not up to it. We had only defensive midfielders until the hour mark. Rochdale's passing was miles better than ours and at least two of their goals were preventable. They were good but certainly not the best team we've faced this season.
KD has now tried at least four players at left wing-back now, only Croll has looked the part so far, but he's a central defender. Boudewijn was constantly switching to his right foot to cross. I don't understand why he took Quigley off when we were only 1-2 down and chasing the game, he was at least causing them a few problems. Reeves did OK as sub.
Now only three points above the bottom four, albeit with two games in hand. The way we played today we could be in trouble. Hartlepool at home next Saturday is another chance to pull away from the bottom, otherwise we'll be looking at some six-pointers soon, like Maidenhead on Easter Monday.
The inconsistent nature of the league was apparent again today with some of the results; we travel to second-placed Barnet on Tuesday, but they lost at Woking, who were bottom four a week ago, today. Bromley, in third, drew at home with third-bottom Kidderminster. And York beat Aldershot! Still all to play for. Apart from Chesterfield, who I think officially need one point to be sure of the title now, although they have a vastly superior goal difference.

Felt like there could have been two divisions between the sides today. Rochdale's passing, movement and pressing was painfully superior to our speculative long balls and occasional decent crosses into Macca. We're a mid to poor National League team currently and relegation could become a very real possibility if we can't show a bit more purpose and nous over the next few games. Assuming we do manage to survive there needs to be a massive overhaul of this squad, with a far greater emphasis on youth, pace and creativity. The likes of Gateshead, Oldham and Rochdale have run absolute rings around us at the Silverlake this season with very similar passing/pressing styles, this is what we need to be aspiring to.

Division 5 players with Division 5 mentality, got a contract till end of season so why bother. The 2 TV games they turned it on for the cameras then cba from then. *****.

At the end of the season over the summer, once the manager has been chosen the club seems as it needs a reset, with the manager given time and freedom to an extent and left to get on with the job without interference.

Problem is the director of football gave out the contracts Yep, that literally would have been in his job remit. Manager asks for players he wants, DOF sorts the best deals they can....

If that's all he did, did he get a full year's salary for it? Negotiating 20 contracts in the summer and the odd loan? What's he doing the rest of the time before he took over as manager?

I’m sure RH would have been involved in the recruitment process and identification of targets. To put it all on Bradbury is not accurate. The profile of signings last summer was quite similar to those of summer 2017 ie senior players past their best and lacking energy and pace. RH has never seemed to trust younger players and prefers senior pros, hence we’ve ended up with the type of squad we have as per 2017/18. One thing that stands out to me is how well coached many of the teams we play are. There are connections, patterns of play, interchange and understanding whereas we rely on individuals to deliver whilst playing in a way that lacks identity, a disconnected route one team. This is of course not solely on the manager but someone who is manager and DOF surely sets the ethos and philosophy and personally I don’t see either currently.
