What an utter pile of boring ****e!!! A bunch of Premier league games featuring their B teams!!! The only one that has the potential to be mildly interesting in the Mackams v The Toon. I didn't expect us to be featured (even though it's the only tie that guarantees a League Two or Non league team in Rd 4) but they could've been a bit more imaginative.

In 2023 where every game can be watched in UK down to division 6 is it really that important? Id imagine We'll be on one of those BBC football focus shows at Sunday 2pm with WBA v Stockport/Aldershot possibly Saints v Alfreton, Maidstone v ? , some more semi interesting games involving Met Police over time. S4C could put Newport C on instead of Wrexham each round but won't happen. Only sad thing is to miss out on the high TV money but that comes with a poor draw rather than TV not picking us, did I hear Hilly on Radio Solent saying we drew Man Utd away in the rehearsal? Would fancy us getting something there over Newport C/ Barnet away

Important in that they might move KO to some silly time rather than 1500 Sat. Maybe lumped in with others, late on Sunday?
Agree it's a dull TV schedule. But then the draw isn't that exciting either.
Shrewsbury v Wrexham is a must for S4C (almost local derby).

Jeff Stelling had a good rant about this. He mentions Eastleigh a few times. I agree they should be showing all the non league clubs, rather that Arsenal v Liverpool, we see that kind of fixture week in week out in the Prem. But i dont agree on his view that the 3rd round should be seeded, so that lower league/non league clubs would be guaranteed a draw against a Prem club. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ5r-9Ky4kg

In the German Cup, all lower-ranked teams are automatically at home. I think that would be the best compromise. I wouldn't like to see seedings either.

Only in the first Rd, it's a poor cup after that with few entrants and winners of state cups getting a go below a certain level

Certain we had drawn Villa away in the 3rd round rehearsal when we got Bolton and i'm fairly sure we got Pompey at home a few years ago

yeah I think theu have gone a bit prem heavy here:
Crystal Palace - Everton & Spurs v Burnley, really?
I bet half of the teams for those games will not be first XI players.

I note that if Barnet do beat Newport (that has to be a 50/50 chance?), then it will be the first time since 2009 that a 3rd round tie has been an all non-league affair.

Yeah, fair enough. It doesn't look like you will be in a relegation scrap (even with the 10pts deduction - which be may be reversed I reckon) so no reason whatsoever why you wouldn't go all out in the FA Cup.
Eastleigh - Everton in the 4th round then :0)
