Why is it we hardly ever get a mention on South Today in the sports section ?, maybe the club needs to get in touch and raise Eastleigh fc profile.

What would you like us to be on South today for? The fanbase that voted 140+ to 40 that RH wasn't the right man?

Why is it we hardly ever get a mention on South Today in the sports section ?, maybe the club needs to get in touch and raise Eastleigh fc profile. Both bbc and itv regional programmes cover a large area. They rarely cover non league, there are many non-league clubs in their catchment. Oxford City, Aldershot Doring and Woking in our league alone and many others in lower leagues. Local radio is currently more local so we get more coverage, although not as much as we used to because of the cuts involved through deliberate underfunding through govt policy on the licence fee.

The fanbase that voted 140+ to 40 that RH wasn't the right man? Go on then, I'll ask - did you make that number up, or was there an actual survey? Would have been interesting if there had been :-) My response to that would have depended on the actual question asked.

Apologies, on the Spitifre Supporters Club Facebook page, it's still up with a 146 - 39 result.
'With last night's bombshell (Hilly Announcement) let's see what the fans think'
Not happy with Hill - 146 Happy with Hill as manager - 39

I think the 'survey' was canvassing for a reaction.

I think the 'survey' was canvassing for a reaction. That "Survey" (and I use the term loosely) was as you said, a bunch on nonsense with the OP trying to get a reaction. They even deleted poll options that didn't fit their agenda. I wouldn't base anything on that!

They even deleted poll options that didn't fit their agenda. I wouldn't base anything on that! There were 2 options... People voted 80% plus in disagreement with the decision to appoint RH but that polling is nonsense because you dont agree with the outcome?! How can a survey with just 2 options be trying to fit an agenda? One of two options was happy with the appointment. 80% plus did not choose this option but there was nothing stopping them choose that option. The fan base dont like the appointment, frankly bceause it is underwhelming and we could all see it coming even before the season even started. Ownwer, returns from his trip elsewhere to give the job to his mate that seemingly doesnt find an appointment elsewhere.... Announcing Hill was on the cards before Bradbury even left. The fan base are not happy. Results will either prove them right or wrong but no sense in suggesting that the original polling was wrong, misleading or trying to fit an agenda. The numbers are the numbers.

I think the 'survey' was canvassing for a reaction. It asked a simple question. Happy or not.. 80% plus chose not. Here for the conspiracy... Please enlighten us all.

I think the idea that 146 responses represents 80% of fans can only be delusional. It certainly might represent 80% of those who thought the so called survey was needed or helpful. I, and I suspect others, didn't think it worth a response.

I, and I suspect others, didn't think it worth a response. It was definitely a survey, or a poll. Call it what you like but not sure why you give it the 'so called' label. Probably because you don't like the result? Nobody said it represented the opinions of the entire fanbase, but clearly it represents the opinions of those who did answer it and they did significantly in favour of not being happy. Even a 50/50 result would not be a great result in terms of uniting the fanbase. I dont think it can be denied that the reappointment of RH is largely unpopular. That doesn't mean that the minority who agree with the appointment are wrong... Only time will tell as to whether it was a good appointment.

Well I voted against him for several reasons:
- we haven't improved since he became DoF, probably actually worsened - our stated aim is promotion, and he's had a couple of goes in this division before and not been up to the task - this summer we've gone back to the mistakes of the past over reliance on name players in their 30s - I'm not sure how much involvement he would have had in the summer on identifying transfers but I guess its not zero...bringing in quality youngsters like Atkinson, Tomlimson and Harper has worked well over the last 4-5 seasons, should we be turning our back on this approach? - this league has advanced tactically in the last few years and he hasn't managed a club since he was last in charge here
That all said I've been pleasantly surprised since he has been announced, we're scoring more than under LB and he has worked out that if we want to get best out of McCallum, Quigley and Maguire then we need a formation where we get the ball into advanced wide areas, and make the most of dead ball situations. Happy to wait and see how Hill does over the next few months.
