Q. Are there any other teams in this league doing non migration this season, in the hope and expectation that they will be promoted and then need to do it in L2? I think, do it when you are forced to, not before. There would be plenty of time in pre-season to put things in place to achieve non segregation. I would have said at the start of this season, we probably only had a realistic 15% chance of being promoted, so not enough to warrant bringing it in this season IMHO.
Cal - what do you mean by its creating a "them & us"?

Different pricing to watch the same match Different facilities to drink and eat in on matchday
Best bit about non league is usually that everyone drinks the same **** beer in the same **** clubhouse

Ah ok, i knew that Sherwoods charge you to go in there, which i will never understand the thought behind charging your own fans to go into a clubhouse. But i didnt realise that the matchday pricing is set differently for different area's of the ground. I get that Seats are usually a pound or so dearer and i get that, but why on earth would it be one price to stand at one end (or side) than it is to stand at the other end (or side) Madness! No wonder fans are switching off and going elsewhere. A big re-think is needed if that's the case and attendances are dropping. I saw that they were offering £3 tickets for last nights game (i think if you sat in the seated area at the far end), so i was expecting to hear of a close to 3,000 crowd. For it to only be around half that (1600?), tells a story that seriously needs to be addressed.

What a difference a goal makes. At 2-1 it would have been a satisfactory win against an inform team, who had gone 6 unbeaten. At 2-2 it was a crap performance, crap crowd and get rid of the interim Manager! No it wouldn't have been a satisfactory win, we made a couple of early defensive blunders which a better team would have punished e.g. Gateshead! Oxford City offered little which shows just how bad we are at present, there is no heart, no pace and worse still no cohesion in this EFC team at present. We have no chance of making the play off positions on this kind of performance against one of the divisions weaker sides.

Obviously a frustrating night seeing OxCity take the game back. It was far better though than the Gateshead game and effectively any manager taking over a previous manager's failing team is going to take time to get the best from them and is going to need time to establish the best team and playing style, not to mention possible recruitment of his own choice of players - which also takes time. It seems though, from other comments on here, that the club is actively seeking to recruit a new manager. If that is the case, RH is not very likely to be signing many playing additions, whether on loan or 'permanent' while he is 'caretaking', and the very thin bench last night, and the team sheet changes, suggest that there are problems with player availability for some reason. As for the game in detail, as well as the already mentioned Scott Quigley's performance, there were some other positive signs including Chris Maguire's midfield presence and Enzio Boldewijn who seems to be gaining confidence if not yet 100% concentration. We still lack movement off the ball around the pitch and generally need to keep more momentum in possession.
After watching RH win the National League South and then get us to the play offs in our first season in the National League, I would like to see him stay on and get us into the EFL. If that isn't going to happen, it might be better to find that new manager pdq - but on the other hand it has to be the right man. Recruit in haste - repent at leisure.

Based on his twitter comments when he left, he would not return if Hilly is still involved.

Callum, as always you’ve hit the nail on the head. So many issues this season. This season the majority of the beer in the hangar is always out. Yet, it costs £10 to go into sherwoods? Sherwoods used to be rammed before matches now it looks like there’s about 60/70 people in there.
That and migration were both seriously misguided, it feels an insult that they thought people would be happy with that? I know after the fans forum many of us thought “okay let’s go with it and trust it”, but the impact it’s had on match day atmosphere and attendance proves it was a serious own goal. A lot of people attend non-league football to get away from all of that corporate nonsense.
On top of that, I’ve been to a saints game this season which on the day costs a quid or so less than Eastleigh. Yes we have a fan base… but we’ve always relied on those on the day people who wanted a day out at the football with family and friends. Sadly, they will go to Saints.

Agree with most of this, except that I thought that our performance last night between minutes 45-75 was not worthy of the National League and was even worse than the Gateshead 'effort'. Not sure what the half time team talk involved, as I said; I thought we were OK in the first half apart from several unforced errors. It took our goal and their instant reply in the second half to liven us up again. 'Recruit in haste - repent at leisure.' Thoroughly agree. How long have we been looking now?

Another big elephant in the room is the £3 tickets didn't work out too well by looks of things. Factors, saints at home? Weather? Product on the pitch? Did or would you currently recommend Eastleigh FC as a positive experience you'd invite some one to come along to?

The Gateshead crowd was also disappointing given that there was a discount for Saints and AFCB S/T holders. A trend that needs to be looked at?
I'd have thought all the factors you mention came into play. Add Champions League to that, unfortunately.
The attendances this season seem more to match the number I estimate that are in the ground - have we changed the way we report attendances (e.g. not count all S/T holders, regardless whether they're there or not?)

And I am tempted to ask again - Ben Strevens anyone? The bloke that got us into the play offs and almost in another season... Do you remember the posts about him back then 🤣 , don't realise what you've got until it's gone

Boudewijn did ok first half, second half he was awol - just stayed back in the RB position and didn't get forward which was a problem with most of the team second half. Richard Hill is not the answer as permanent manager and he has to share the blame with the departed Bradbury for the mismatch we have on the pitch. This team is a worse side than last season, when we had a lower budget. I would happily have Ben Strevens back, we played better football and seemed to recruit a more hungry player on a lesser budget. It seems he went as he felt he wasn't getting backing, (which may well have been dictated by our budget) to take us any further. Whoever comes in has a tough job to kick start the season and looking at last night's poor effort and indeed some previous performances, will need to bring in some players. Otherwise we have no chance IMO of the current make up of the team getting anywhere near the PO's.

I said in a previous post before the new season the club was dreaming a dream predicting it was going to get promoted now Wrexham and Notts County have moved up. Bradbury wasn't most players cup of tea when he came in resulting in them leaving ( having spoken to at least 7 of them) . The atmosphere has gone. Standing close to the pitch has gone. Having a beer with friends beforehand has gone. Eating upstairs inviting a group has gone unless you wanna waste £100 each. Standing and sitting each half has gone. Parking in car park guaranteed with season ticket pass isn't 100%. Certain food available in certain areas?? Half time beer means missing 15 mins 2nd half due to queing. Hangar bar absolutely disusting place with no beer most games. Sherwoods the most lovely fans bar in league but sadly not for real fans anymore, mascots and dads mainly now free of charge. Toilets not working. No running water in toilets. No communication with fans and away travel until last minute. Even people i know who bought season tickets arent really bothered attending anymore. Attendances are way below last few years and will not get any better anytime soon. I have no idea who makes all these decisions but they all seem pretty BAD to me. All was well when Kenny Amor was running it. The clowns walking around following SD everywhere make me chuckle. What do they do ??
