Lots of moaning from what has become an ever entitled fan base 🙂 Let's have some names for the possible new job then...... Think there's a separate thread on the possible new manager. Most names mentioned in it are people who have already taken up other positions. The new manager appointment process appears to have taken a while. Not a problem, as long as we get the right person in the end. As for 'ever entitled fan base'... prices have gone up, the ground is undergoing changes to make it 'football league friendly', yet we get stuffed 6-0 at home after ditching the previous manager after five games. The DOF seemingly hasn't been able to address the deficiencies with the squad that he built/helped build over the summer. I think people are entitled to express their opinions. Do you have a more optimistic view?

The expectation has come from those at the top, just filtering its way down to the supporters.
Personally Luke Garrard for me, but actually give him time to build a squad to compete as the current bunch aren’t up for it.
The other issue is the manager would have to happy to work under the current set up with a director of football, not everyone’s cup of tea.
We need a 3-5 year plan.

Yes 🙂 Still one the cheapest match days in the country New infrastructure continously being built Migration will surely have to finish soon Not bottom of the National League South Doswell, Baird, Collins are available 😁

I am seeing alot of anger/indifference/hatred/disrespect towards RH, and I'm finding it all a bit bewildering to be honest. All opinions are valid of course but this is a guy who steps in when we need it, he's on the terraces for every game, mostly in the away end for away games. Does anyone go up to him and talk to him? To enquire about his role or position? I doubt it highly. He's a very accessible man and so is Stewart, that's what makes this place amazing. OK they might have a vision which we might not fully agree with, I actually said to SD please remove Bradbury face to face after the Gateshead loss last season, because I could see this situation arising again , Chris Todd 2.0, I disagree with him not doing it but I would probably understand his reasoning if I asked his decision again.
In all honesty the reasons why we have situations like this , I.e lack of happiness about entrance to sherwoods, the hangar, migration , away travel is because we don't have a strong supporters club. Most clubs at our level have a strong representation at a high level of the club, look at what York City, Aldershot, Southend fans are able to achieve in historic and current times of need. Maybe we need to look at ourselves the fans first rather than to others?

Good points and yes Hill deserves respect for what he’s done for the club over the years. But is he the right man to take us forward now as manager? And like you saw with bradbury being Todd 2.0 a lot of us may be of the opinion if Hill takes over again will it be any different to the last few times? I agree with a lot of people saying let’s get a competent manager in for a fresh start rather than have Groundhog Day again and again. Now we’ve got the funds to do it I think the fans are right in expecting us to do well. I’m sure SD and RH will expect us to do well with what they are investing.

Maybe we need to look at ourselves the fans first rather than to others? It is not hate or disrespect - its wanting better for our club and remembering what has happened previously. He has failed twice before and moved on. Strevens and the club seemed to be doing very well on the pitch until Hill returned and clearly interfered in a way that Strevens felt incredibly aggrieved at. He now has 4 points from 3 games (2 games at home), with 3 of those points won against a side that played over a hour with ten men without a recognised keeper in goal for that hour. He was in charge for what must be our worst defeat in recent history. He has offered nothing yet in this tenure to suggest we would be missing out if we don't appoint him. If Hill was so good why is he not managing somewhere else? Why does he only get a job under SD? Of course there is loyalty to SD here, but if he was really an outstanding National League (or above) candidate then surely we would have seen him managing at other places in recent years??? Sorry, but for me Hill as manager is not going to move us forward to the next level. No migration because we could soon be football league and we need to prepare for that....stuff like that sets expectations high....with high expectations / increased ambition do we really want to go back? The challenge is that if he then stays as DOF history teaches us there will be an element of interference, and does that then limit the pool of people that will work with us? Ardley was available - didn't happen - could be all number of reasons why it didn't happen but I would have preferred him to Hill. Would love to see the Cowleys - no idea of the affordability here or how relationship would work with Hill. Tisdale - Did a great job at Exeter - Whether it matches his ambitions / our budget I have no idea. Garrard - Has got Boreham Wood close in recent years and they always look very athletic compared to us. I like him too. I suspect there are a lot of applications - no idea whatsoever if the names above are/were in the pool of options. I just find it very strange it is taking so long, and it smacks of it ultimately ending back with Hill again if he wants it. I just don't see why that would be our best option and I will be very frustrated if that happens as I suspect we end up with more of the same again.

I think the sentiments towards RH reflect a sense that he could be difficult to work with as DOF unless he has his own man in place. Stevens’ tweet pretty much confirmed this from his perspective. I confess I’ve never been a big fan of RH. Yes he gained promotion albeit with the largest budget in that league and the first season in the NL was a big success. However when the next season started poorly he quickly resigned. His return in 2017 has to be acknowledged as initially successful, keeping us up after the MA debacle. However the recruitment in summer ‘17 was very similar to now ie ex FL league players on decent money, no coherence to the signings and it was a disaster. The football in that spell was dreadful to watch and he again resigned as manager , handing over to AH who improved things until he left and BS took over. I’ve never enjoyed some of RH’s behaviours over the years in terms of confrontations with officials, opposing managers, players and fans. I don’t know the man so these are perceptions only of course and I’ve heard people speak very highly of him. I do think his approach to football and tactics is probably outdated and therefore would never want him to remain manager. He must take some responsibility for the recruitment this summer which has seen us fall back into bad habits following a number of years where we recruited quite cannily. I agree that a longer term Project/vision of 3-5 years is needed where a squad and club ethos is built up progressively. No more attempts at quick fixes please.

Some good comments here. Club definitely needs a change in strategy, I know Stewart Donald & Richard Hill are good friends but it is time to do things differently
