Well, depends on whether your glass is half full or half empty...
First 30 mins we were abysmal - failed to mark players, gave way three awful goals, let them do what they wanted (and they're a good side).
Before half time it seemed to be a case of 'well, it can't get any worse, let's have a go'. And we were so much better.
We pulled a goal back and got back into it well in the second half.
As mentioned elsewhere, bringing on Carter made a big difference, especially since he went on the right to link up with Rutherford, a successful partnership last season. Other players stepped up to the plate too. McCallum and Quigley worked hard, and it was good to see them get goals. We got Maguire more involved in the second half, a good idea. Nwabuokei started to show his potential at last. Joe McD made two crucial saves after his error. I wasn't sure if the equaliser would come, but it did. Barnet must be gutted.
Does the season begin now?

its been 3 games and we have not lost, we have not won either. Solihull was frustrating as we were in control the majority of the game. Wealdstone was just poor all around but these games happen and tonight showed the character of the squad to be able to come back from 3-0 down, have to say Maguire done amazing creating the chance for the final goal, and its very good to see both McCallum and Quigley in the goals. one thing I would like to see is Ludwig start on Saturday as we obviously need someone whos able to win headers defending a corner. Onto Rochdale

Blimey, sounds like quite a game. 3 draws to begin the season with. Don’t think anyone would have predicted that

A game we would have lost last season. Maguire, Macca, Quigley massive pluses. Good contributions from Carter and Barlow off the bench. Question marks over centre backs, Ludwig needs to play at Rochdale.

Ironic that the question has not popped up, but here goes. Many fans complain, and I'm one of them, that LB sends his team out not to lose the game, rather than to win it. This means we are defensive, play a lone striker up front, rely on corners and free kicks to grab a goal and try to see the game out. Its not only boring football, but risky, as proven at Solihull when two points were snatched away at the death. But 3-0 down after half an hour, defensive tactics go out the window, we claw a goal back before half time. In the second half we saw the real potential of this Eastleigh team when allowed to play, to express their attacking prowess and their desire, commitment and pride shone through in a remarkable comeback. Barnet will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, but we showed in the second half so can we be. LB needs to have faith, let them play to win rather than try not to lose. If not, he won't be manager for long, we have a team, now we need to see the manager is the right man for the job. In a strange way Barnet going three up might be the best thing to happen for LB in the long run.

Macca's equiliser cost me £585. I did a 3 game Result and both teams to score bet. With 4 mins to go i had Barnet winning, Chesterfield winning and Woking winning and in each game both teams had scored. I could have cashed out at that point for £365, but i let it run...Damn Macca!....
Great comeback though.

By the same argument he could be thinking that having started with 2 forwards and found the team 3-0 down then better go back to just one up top. Just saying.

Exactly that NKC, he now has too many strike options thus started with 2 up top Tuesday. The bloke seemingly can't win, I do agree with Pikes co commentary that having all players back for corners is a bit OTT but maybe he has trained them in counter attacks and trusts their ability?

I was at the game on Tuesday and for the first time this season we started with McCallum, Quigley and Maguire and I think that in the first half we played with a complete lack of cohesion with Barnet controlling the midfield, our defence loooked vulnerable whenever they attacked and we were fortunate to be only two goals behind at the interval.
What I think is proven is that we get balls into the box McCallum will score and finding suitable wide players who can provide the crosses he thrives on should be part of our attacking armoury. Last season Charlie Carter and Oscscar Rutherford combined well on the right hand side and I think that Carter played an important part in our recovery. on Saturday he was apparently played on the left hand side which I do not think is his best position.
I think that some of our new signings we are still to work out the best way to utilise their skills and some of them may not work out at all.
Actually we have at least two of our three strikers on the pitch when all four goals have been conceded this season

Overlapping attacking wing backs needed then ?
