We would be delighted to see some Eastleigh fans tomorrow when AFC Stoneham host Horndean at 3pm. 2nd v 3rd in the Wessex Premier League Step 5.
With an Eastleigh season ticket we will allow adults entrance for £4 discounted from the normal £7. Children Under 16 will be free.
Your support would be hugely appreciated !
Thank you Mark Chairman AFC Stoneham

It hasn't been available for the games I've been to previously this season.

Horndean won 1-0 in a tight game with the winner being scored by the prolific Zak Willett. The Purps' first home defeat of the season. Attendance an impressive 237.
Portchester won again so are still in the box seat, but if Horndean win all their games in hand they will only be a point behind. It will probably be between these two now. They meet at Portchester on Easter Saturday.
AFC Totton got 1435 today for their game against Larkhall.

Been enjoying following the Wessex league. 4 clubs still in it at this late stage. After beating Porchester, horndean have it in their own hands. Though they have 6 games in 13 days so might find that tricky!
I also saw Andover new street beat Andover town 5-4 having come back from 0-4. Not often that happens!

1458 at Portchester v Horndean on Saturday (well, it was over 1000). Horndean were the better team but, yes, have a heavy run-in. Portchester have two difficult games to come, too.
The winner goes up and the second placed team go into a playoff. There are four teams in the running for at least that second place (including AFC Stoneham) so there is a chance that Portchester, even with Pitman banging in the goals, may not go up.

Still all to play for going into the last round of games on Tuesday, Porchester could come anywhere between 1st and 4th!
Horndean have it in their hands though & must be heavy odds on to win it.
Stoneham still have a slight chance of sneaking 2nd.
Am guessing all 4 teams are eligible for promotion?

I think the winners have to go up. They then get a year to improve the ground to Step 4 standards. Second place may have to participate in a play-off to see if they get promoted.
As you say, Horndean are heavy favourites to win the title, they should win at home to Portland, but Portchester, currently second, must travel to third-placed Bemerton, only two points behind. A win for Portchester plus a failure to win for Horndean would give Portchester the title. Otherwise a win for either Bemerton or Portchester would clinch second place. But a draw between those two would mean that Stoneham would have to win by two at bottom club Alresford to get into second.
Will be an exciting Tuesday!

Rumours that Winchester City might be struggling to stay up due to ground grading issues?

I talked with unknownquantity yesterday who seemed to think Winchester would be OK - hopefully he'll come on here at some point and clarify.

www.hampshirechronicle.co.uk/sport/23462696.steve-brine-supports-winchester-city-fc-fundraising-appeal/They are attempting to go artificial with improved fencing, stands, etc. Think changing rooms and club house stay as is. They are £110k or so short and have started a gofundme page to try and raise this. Rest I assume coming from grants. It looks as if the gofundme page was set up on 14th April and so far has around £2,600. Article from Hampshire Chronicle link above. If happens I think they end up ground sharing for half a season why this is carried out. After promotion in 2021-22 I understand you get a year to meet ground grading criteria. I assume they are still short of this a year on and need to prove this upgrade is happening to get further leeway. I am sure there are others, including Malcolm, that can give more accurate details but this is the info I have been told 3rd hand. Glad to hear Malcolm thinks it will be OK as they have achieved a great deal recently.

Would be good if they can stay in...looks good with Totton going up, and possibly Sholing as well.

I think that Winchester hoped to get planning permission for the work they needed to, but I will await for someone from the club to announce their position officially before commenting further.
