I am not normally particularly critical but frankly today we did not play football and did not deserve to win. The 2nd half reminded me of some of the awful football we played under Martin Allen. Halifax do not look a great side (if Aldershot can put 5 past them...) yet they played all the football and were the width of a post from equalising. And what's with the time wasting and doing shoelaces up? Either the manager needs to stamp that out - or it is coming from the manager which is worse. Use of substitutes was poor. Also seen nothing in Cisse that says he is the answer in midfield. Abrahams looked off the pace today (his work rate is normally far higher) and Ebanks needs more alertness and movement. But the main issue is we play everything long. No pacy one-two passing, no bringing the ball down and looking after it. If Bradbury is all about hoof and hope football then we will find crowds going down and the team too. Hopefully we will get better - there are some players with great potential there but not convinced the manager is getting the best from them. Also the committee meetings in the technical area show we may have too many voices there. Got that off my chest - up the Spits!

The gamesmanship etc. is presumably what fans going on away trips are 'treated' to, if you believe opposition fora - been a lot of moaning from them this season. Agree it's not good to watch, especially at home.
The match reminded me of the relegation six-pointers you see in March/April - they were the better team until that fateful 23rd minute, then Joe McD saved the penalty and we went up the other end and scored with a shot through their keeper's legs. After that they lost confidence and were simply awful for the rest of the half, we were on top and should have taken advantage. Second half they came back a bit and we decided to hang on to our lead for the last 20 mins, which means it got a bit desperate near the end.
Defence was fairly solid, Oyenuga righly got MOM playing a Vinnie Harper type of game. Forwards were faced with two immovable objects in their central defenders and it was a right old battle. Ebanks is only 19 and looked dangerous on Tuesday, again he worked very hard and kept the opponents occupied today, he could prove to be a useful acquisition with more experience. He's already git the strength. Midfield a mixture: JJ and Charlie Carter have got better as the season has gone on, IMO, but it looks to me as if opponents have found a way of stopping Cisse, and I think Hill looks a bit lightweight, especially in games against teams like this, although you can't fault his workrate.
I think this will prove to be a big result. Home form is reasonable, but the away form is looking on paper as bad as last season, although it seems we're playing well and been unlucky in some games.
Shout out for the ref, too so many yellow cards, some justified, as there were a lot of fouls - however, he simply guessed with the one he gave against Ebanks, for example - and he didn't go down well with the fans where I was situated. Standard National League referee, then.

Wasn’t much of a game or much of a performance must be admitted.didn’t create much at all (has been a theme most of what I have seen this season.
But we were quite solid and, in the cold light of day, it was a fairly comfortable win. Did Halifax threaten much? Not really.
I actually thought our game management/running the clock down was some of the better stuff we did(!). Taking 30 seconds plus over a throw is not exciting or great as a neutral but it is part and parcel of professional football when it’s late on and you have a narrow lead. And which of us are neutrals?! Am sure other teams have done exactly the same to us when we have been behind.
Must admit I am finding it hard to get a lot of enthusiasm about this season on our showings So far. However our points total is reasonable and that’s ultimately what we must be judged on

It's a good job points aren't awarded for entertainment, or we'd be relegated already!
But some times the result is more important than the performance and that was the case Saturday. That was a must win for us and Bradbury in particular.
I guess he is waiting until we have ground out enough points to ensure we don't get relegated before giving us the entertaining, flowing football he was promising?
