Ian Wilding on twitter has said EFC are poised to sign Pitman after he has left Bristol Rovers, being a free agent. His best days are clearly behind him, but it seems to be a bit of a no brainer to me. Probably signing till the end of the season, maybe with an option for next?Hopefully he still has a few goals in the tank.

Not sure how I feel about this one great player on his day him and barnett not really filling me with confidence, neither has much pace.
Is this also us returning to the 2nd Donald era and signing has beens?

On the one hand, he's 34 and injury-prone. On the other hand, he's a great finisher when he's on his game, and obviously has a lot of experience.
Maybe he and Barnett will be rotated and someone like Hill will partner him again?
Barnett usually only lasts about an hour anyway, his fitness has to be managed, but IMO he was still the best striker we've had, up to now. He's also decent defending at corners and brings others into the game. The linkup with midfield will be important.

4 blanks in a row in the league.
Has scored a lot of goals at Champ/League 1 level so should be an asset to us. He is only just 34 so will hopefully have a year or two left in him.
Although its a loan signing he is out of contract with Bristol Rovers in the summer so effectively he is our player till the summer and we can reasses things then.

I rec a fab signing at this level, quality and experience at higher divisions and ok undoubtedly passed his peak but knows where the goal is, who cares if he plays 60 mins, he is proven, if it works and at the end of the season he is perminant then it will benefit both parties. Welcome Brett, good luck.

He's a lazy bugger but gets goals. All good in my book.
