Woeful. Eastleigh are stagnant as an attacking force. Agreed. Embarrassing.

Yes, terrible result. Need a forward ASAP, probably on loan, especially now Ben House has left.
We've got some tricky fixtures coming up, especially away, where our form is poor.
However, we've got a good home record, and we're 15 points ahead of third-bottom Weymouth, which I suspect might almost be enough, even at the end of January.

Think people need to look closer to home, someone text me last week saying that as of HT of the Aldershot game he was now getting free football at EFC for the rest of the season. We are part of the problem, if you don't want to pay the going rate then you will only get an average size budget and therefore average performing players. EFC are performing at exactly what the budget is, anyone can lose a game of football over 90mins thats what makes it interesting. Clearly these players aren't good enough going forward but as for the management I still believe and I will always believe they can produce something better than this, because they have proven it over their tenure.

Folk getting steamed up over Strevs need to calm down the impatient pillocks. Look at the budget, then moan!

Where did you expect us to be at the start of the season? Who would do better than our current set up. Strevs can't control how **** the players are on the pitch
We can't compete with the top 7 anymore and I wouldn't want us to, Wrexham spending 300k on a whim every time they need a new player, Boreham Wood owner re mortgaged his house and still not top.

Good points Callum, we can't compete financially with nearly all of the top 7 clubs and to try to would only lead to going bust.
Clearly Strevs departure today is results based on one hand as for every good home performance we have been rank awful away. A couple of spankings, stupid red cards and a defeat to the league whipping boys last night has stacked up. He also has seemed to chop and change the team selection with no clear plan.
Jason Bristow deserves the rest of the season as a bare minimum but with the House x-fer fee reportedly paying wages for the rest of the squad and Maghoma going back to Gillinhgam then all is clearly not rosy in the garden.
Thankfully we have points in the bag but i'm expecting a tail off in results until the end of the season.

Why do we always seem to have managers departing, after losing to Dover?

Yes, it is. The other two defeats were at home and even more dispiriting.
I see Dover have just released Ben Williamson. Would we be interested?

I would not think so, if Dover don't want him, I can't see us wanting him. I was not inpressed when he was here before

I think that of the last seven Eastleigh managers three have left the club directly after a loss to Dover, one went to join Dover and another left after three successive losses the first of which is to Dover. However I do not think eithyer Ronnie Moore or Martin Allen lost to Dover during their time as Eastleigh manager,
I also think that Ben Strevens lives in Milton Keynes. That is quite a long way to travel when things are not working out particularly well for you and it is clear that his immediate predecessor left the role with travelling an important factor in his departure and I certainly that geographical issues with new managerial appointments should not necessarily be completely overlooked.
I think that we have done extremely well to get average crowds at home games approaching 2500, but the fact is there are six clubs in our division who average over 5000 at home games. I know there are other things that you have to factor in when evaluating the true financial situation regarding this, but say these extra 2500 people pay an average of £10 per home game then that is an extra £25000 per game and that additional income over a season can certainly help with player recruitment.
I personally think that Ben Strevens is generally approachable and honest, has good footballing contacts established at least in part as a result of a lengthy playing career, and I think the club has a better youth policy than previously.
In the past we have had a run of indifferent run of results, but have been able to regain momentum in in the two seasons that he has been there at the end we have reached the playoffs once and on the other occasion were in the running for a playoff place until the final game of the season.
However the last four games have all been away from home losses have seen the end of our F A Trophy hopes and virtually the end of our playoff hopes. It is Ben's first permanent appointment as a managerial number 1
