We have two signed recognised strikers. Neither are that good. Okay as squad players. Eastleigh need to sign two quality strikers if they are serious about getting promotion. Two strikers...

Not sure why anyone connected to Eastleigh would be thinking about promotion? We overachieved last season coming top half and nearly getting the last play off spot.
We are up against teams with Hollywood owners who have signed a manager Stewart Donald once deemed good enough to get Sunderland up to the Championship not so long ago.
Chesterfield taking 1m loan Stockport signing players for 300k Grimsby and Southend with their parachute payments.
The promotion situation has been taken out of our hands I'm afraid, will be a miracle if we come top half again for a fair few seasons, that doesn't mean each season will be turgid, far from it. The style of play can give enjoyment and some cup runs would be nice.

But give a few "League sides" a bloody nose.

Team spirit and a mix of experience and young talent is the key.

How much did Sutton spend last season? Money does not buy you everything but that said unless some quality is brought in, with football league experience, my glass is half empty and a season of struggle is what I am predicting ahead.

I generally take a fairly pragmatic view of things and I think that we have to work within our budget.
20 goal a season strikers are frequently talked about, but only one player in the National League reached 20 league goals and no-one in either of the two promoted teams scored more than 15 league goals. Tyrone Barnett scored 12 league goals despite missing a run of six matches which cost us in the final analysis, but some people do not rate his goalscoring record.
Actually at the end of last season we had nine players who were either forwards or attacking midfielders and of these seven scored eight league goals between them. Two of these players have been released and one has joined another club. I think the hope is assuming we buy replacements for these departed players that they can say contribute say at least five five goals even if they are not out and out strikers.
It is perhaps worth noting that when we first reached the National League South playoffs winger Tony Taggart with 13 was our leading scorer with 13 and central midfielder Anthony Riviere was second with 10. However that season nine players scored more than 3 goals as opposed to three last season.
