I think with a right back and a left back they will replace Partington and Kelly. Kelly played for Yeovil against us earlier in the year, but it seems both players have been released from Bristol Rovers.

Michael Kelly hasn't played that many games. At 23, he's only played 60 games in last five years. I guess Ben has seen something in him?

I think that after joining Yeovil on loan at the end of January Michael Kelly played 20 games for the club which represented the majority of the games the club played in that period. I would think how he played in these games would give some indication of how he is likely to fare for us.
Often when a young player joins a football league club and cannot secure a regular first team spot it does seem that the player is credited with few appearances during this period. Whether it is because the player is playing for the under 23 team as Ben House was or is a regularly unused substitute I do not know, but if there is evidence that he is injury prone I do not think it can be easily found. I expect though that the reason for the loan move to Yeovil may have been to give him some fame time.
With three defenders who were offered new contracts turning them down it does seem sensible to being in some defensive reinforcements, whatever your opinions on the improvements needed in other areas of the team. In recent seasons left back has been an area where he have lacked cover with someone who normally plays elsewhere filling the role when the regular left back is unavailable.

Proof is in the pudding. We will only know when the season starts. Then we can debate the merits of new and existing players. Not sure what to expect from Eastleigh this year except they will probably be poor in front of goal.
