Every sign that we should have over 1,000 ST sales before long. In the era post-SD this becomes a much more important element of the club's funding.

And who were all these people convinced attendances were going to crash? All gone quiet over there...

Last seasons performance and the signings of Partington & Stryjek have definitely helped push this number up. Anyone for a well known striker to come in and push the tickets up above 1,000!!?

Prices are still cheap, as has been emphasised in the marketing. If they had risen to a larger extent then I doubt whether we would have had so many people buying them - although I'm sure after a few years some 'brand loyalty' is starting to appear. £6-52 to see a NL game is still pretty good. Wessex league don't charge much less.
As martfergie said, we also did better than (many) expected last season, recruitment has been promising with some familiar faces returning, and IMO there are some attractive new opponents.
We may need to work on the number of 'floating' fans, though, and try to have more deals for less attractive opposition. For example we have Boreham Wood and Maidenhead on a Tuesday night.

It’s a shame there were no FREE games last season. I totally get the cost to the club for putting them on, but I’ll never forget the Maidstone game which was free entry. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I think we went 4th after a 3-1 win. I bet the atmosphere and the football on display that night got a few new season tickets signed up that season! Maybe we’ll see 1 put on this year, a Tuesday night game during a half term?

I think with the new financial reality we have at EFC, its not realistic to expect free games. Yes its a great idea, and were we to get a windfall thanks of an FA cup run, that would be a good way to spend some of the cash, but without extra cash, I think finances will be tight, and I doubt free games will be seriously considered.

Doesn't have to be totally free, maybe £5-£10 adults and kids go free?
From what I saw the free games made a fortune on the catering side, and people buying merchandise.
Last year we had 3223 at the Halifax game due to free tickets to sports clubs (IIRC).

At the Halifax game the length of queues did not pass without comment and I think that any offer like this must have staff available to deal with the additional demand.
I am not sure whether the secondary spend of those who attend primarily because of free or reduced prices is that high. I went to some matches last season where I was surprised by how few people went back in the clubhouse for a drink after the game.

Didn't go in the bar but saw that the food stalls and club shop had much longer queues than usual.
If the free tickets were mainly kids then neither they nor their accompanying adult would probably have used the bar.

Be very interesting to see whether the new housing has a any inpact on the attendance next season. Definitely the potential to increase the fan base by quite a few.

I think that it has already been well documented that for the Halifax game the queues to get in and for the toilets and entry to the game were significantly greater than normal.
I do not know about the club shop and merchandise, but I think that if the number of staff dealing with customers was not increased then it would probably be easy for even a 5% increase in the number of customers to double the length of the queue.

Not sure how many people are in yet in the houses, so maybe the tail end of this season would be more like it. Would be a decent shout, once the housing is complete, for the club to take leaflets round for reduced match tickets for local residents, like a “We love our neighbours” type thing. In fact that could be something the club do every year, like a one use voucher to get more locals along. I’m sure before too long some of them would get the bug of the club like we all have and look at season tickets etc.

Interesting to see H&W have now sold 650 season tickets and have extended their £99.99 early bird price right up to the first game of season on 3rd August. Times are certainly changing down there. Also with PFC fans getting in for £6 and only five fixtures clashing all season I think they are expecting a really big upturn in attendance figures despite their relegation.

Not just that - have you seen their squad? They must be big favourites to go back up again this season. That will boost crowds too.
Competition for us, even though we do cover different areas of South Hampshire!
