Oh dear. That's shocking. Had no idea he was unwell. An Eastleigh FC man through and through. Thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP.

Seems only 5 minutes ago he was our kitman. He did the job for many years. More than that he was a big part of Eastleigh FC & Eastleigh FC was obviously a big part of him.
RIP

I actually saw him on Saturday and I must admit I hardly recognised him, although I knew he had been unwell. Did not expect him to pass away so quickly, but was club kit man for several years going back to the time in the National League South days and believe he was involved with Colden Common prior to that.

So very sad, a real football man. As you say he was involved with Colden Common for many years and on the youth front at Wyvern. I remember he used to organise and run the Wyvern youth annual six a side tournament, profits from which then went a long way to funding the many age groups over each of the following seasons. RIP.

I was honoured to sit next to Kevin on Saturday at Winchester. Although clearly not well, he was bright and chatty. He was a hard working person and did a great for Bashley, Winchester and Eastleigh. Dickon, we will remember you. Paul Murray

Kevin was still listed as EFC's kit man in the programmes at the end of last season, although I can't recall seeing him on a regular basis last term. He was one those hard working people who, although behind the scenes, helped our club succeed over many years. People like him keep football clubs going, just as much as those on the Board.

www.eastleighfc.com/club-statement-kevin-dixon/It is with great sadness that the club report the passing of popular former player and kit man, Kevin Dixon. Kevin stood down from his role as first team kit man at the end of the 2017/18 season. He had been involved with the club for a number of years in a playing capacity and was kit man for over ten years. Kevin was a very popular figure amongst the playing staff, management and fans. He was a football man through and through, having played a good standard across many local clubs. His support for the football management including first team all the way through to the academy will always be greatly appreciated. Kevin passed away on Wednesday, after a short battle with illness. Positive and strong until the end, we were delighted to have Kevin visit us during our recent FA Cup game against Hampton & Richmond Borough, where we were able to share a beer. We are thankful for the hard work Kevin put in over the years and offer our deepest condolences to his family. As a mark of our gratitude we ask fans to stand in a minute’s applause in the 62nd minute (to acknowledge his age) at Saturdays National League fixture against Salford City. We will forever appreciate Kevin’s contributions to the club. Rest In Peace 9th May 1956 – 31st October 2018
