I don't think we should be signing players over, say, 32, on more than a one-year deal. We shouldn't be signing many of those anyway. As we all know, there needs to be a balance between youth and experience, which we haven't yet managed.
SOE - fair comment about teams below us having changed manager and seeing an immediate improvement. But I still see teams like Solihull, Halifax, Chester, Guiseley and perhaps Torquay potentially finishing below us as long as we play more to our potential.
These other teams may improve in the next month or two, with new signings, and it's up to us to do the same. Hopefully we won't lose Callum Howe, for example, but if we do then we need to make an equally good signing to replace him. Same if we lose Ben Williamson.

Yes, for me bringing in the likes of zeb was an unnecessary gamble. There must've been better options than someone that probably hasn't kicked a ball for 3 years. It's hasn't worked out, and because we haven't got anyone else we've got to play him. McCallums been very injury prone and now Williamson out I can't see a strike force of zeb and macca yeilding goals. Macca shouldn't really be used regularly so I think we need at least one probably 2 new strikers. Recruitment needs to be better

Good point but would you really want the players we got now on two year deals?! From how most of them have played so far this season it's probably better that we can release at the end of the season without incurring more costs The answer to that question is 'How old were they when we signed them'. Let's say you have a player aged 26, Eastleigh says to him "You get a 1 year deal at £1k a week and we'll take an option of retaining you for another year afterwards" Another club comes along and says, "Sign for us, £850 a week, 2 year deal with an option of retaining for a further year" Financially its a no brainer. If we're going to complete for the top young talent then we will have to offer 2 year deals otherwise lose them, and we'll end up with another bunch of old has beens and failing to move forward. We need a DoF with good business acumen about finances and a strategy for a 3 year project. I don't think RH is that kind of man in the business world, he is just a football man.

At the other end of the Spectrum to the "can we make the playoffs" question is the "we are in a relegation battle" comments from early last month.
Sutton was our last defeat in the league and things certainly seemed gloomy at that time. Of course things do change quickly and whilst it seems unlikely we will be involved a relegation battle, its still not impossible.
50 points should be enough to see us safe, lets see how long it takes us to get those 10 points!
