I know work is ongoing but whoever sold us the roof on the shed end obviously didn't mention that it's not fit for purpose, unless the rain is falling in straight lines. Please do not believe him if he puts forward the Stoneham Lane Monorail
Also no speakers so couldn't hear team news or music and scoreboard doesn't help.

Agreed, there was nowhere in there where you'd stay dry tonight. I hope they sort out the speakers as it's very frustrating that you know there's an announcement but you can't hear a thing.

Have to agree, no one wants to knock the developments ongoing but the roof is at such a height that you just get wet!! I know it was driving rain being blown but mmmmmm what else could you do?? The roof has to be above the windows so there it is. On the plus side the pitch looked brill and the team played pretty well against a very good side.

Seems strange they bothered putting it up at all. Guess it wasn't cheap and serves no purpose at the moment.
Could be a sideline in branded ponchos though....

You could have been anywhere tonight and you would have got wet, we were in the blue stand and the rain was pouring in.🙁🙁🙁

was some pretty horizontal rain tonight at times. ideally roof would be a bit lower but that doesn't work for the windows of the top tier. think it would be good if the terrace could do right back. another 2m or so to the new building

PO totton I'm entitled to an opinion. I enjoyed standing in the shed but having a roof way up there is a pointless exercise. Of course in your world I should just say nothing and move on.

I don't believe the original plans for the building had a roof for the shed included in them. So they probably didn't factor in that they needed one, and when it came to it, did the best that they could even though it's not perfect. The best bet would be to move the entire shed back to almost touch the building, but that's going to take a bit more than a few volunteers on a Friday afternoon.

Yeah that would help a bit and raising it I think is also what was planned originally with a more permanent concrete base, it's not about whinging for the sake of it, the rain tested it last night and unfortunately it didn't come up to spec. Am sure a few tweaks to make the base higher etc will help and I agree I don't think a roof was in the original plan but the club are trying hard and I for one am very grateful as it's getting there. It's no good arguing amongst each other, ha the season hasn't started yet 😱

I guess with the roof being high up we will lose a bit on the acoustics of the shed end as well.
I think its one of those things that will sort itself out over time, I remember the furore when the mackoys green seats were unveiled, just a couple of weeks later it was (and still is) an absolute non issue.
