Moneyfield wins the league last Saturday and are presented with trophy and medals.....then on Wednesday The FA dock them 3 points for playing a suspended player in January......Portland United proclaimed champions....14 weeks to find Moneyfield guilty.....what a joke The FA are.

I thought that Moneyfields has been found guilty before the end of the season, but appealed against the decision, and that appeal was only heard (and rejected) last Wednesday? The appeal was to the FA, the original decision (I think) was by Wessex/Hampshire. That would explain the sequence of events, and delay, a little bit. Having said that, the time it took to sort it all out, and the fact that the appeal was heard after the end of the season, is, I agree, a joke. From Moneys' point of view, the system let them down, adding to their sense of injustice: www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/moneyfields-fc/moneyfields-lose-wessex-division-premier-title-for-fielding-suspended-player-1-7934715As champions, they were in line for promotion to (presumably) the Southern League. Now they are second, this may be in doubt.

As several clubs have found over the years the Southern League's ground requirements can be expensive. IIRC Sholing were told to put in new toilet blocks a couple of seasons back and decided to stay where they were.

I also thought there was no presentation at Moneys because of the appeal and a presentation was to be done later

Yes Dave you are correct, I was informed yesterday afternoon Moneyfield simply displayed a champions banner and cracked open a bottle or two of bubbly. No actual presentation took place due to the appeal process. And it appears Moneyfield will still be promoted though due to Portland not applying for promotion. It beats me why you have to apply for promotion by the end of October each season.
