The number of goals conceded this season 56 Goalkeeper Stats by our 6 keepers.
Played. Conceded. A.P.G R Flitney. 9. 4. 0.44 R Huddart. 5. 12. 2.4 M Childs . 2. 2. 1 S Brown. 3. 5. 1.66 G Stack. 11. 15. 1.36 R Clark. 11. 18. 1.63
Total. 41. 56. 1.36
The above figures refer to league games only If we take the 4 goals conceded by Stack on Saturday he would be down to 1 a game. On that basis with the overall poor performance last Saturday you can see why RH sticks with G Stack. Flitney still comes out tops!

What would the averages be in all competitions?

Who cares, the goalie on Saturday was abysmal...stats are not going to change that...end of.

Hi again, from SalfordImp
Can you make sure you put Stack between the sticks again for next Saturdays game against the Imps?

A keeper can only do so much, the defence in front of him counts too.
Flitney probably had the best defence in front of him we've had this season - he also was used to playing with them and communicated well with them. The stats bear this out too.
Since then it's all been a bit of a mess..... Childs did pretty well but only played two games. It's down to individual opinion as to the merits of Stack and Clarke (see other thread), but they have had some rubbish in front of them at times, to be brutally honest.
If you're after Saturday's keeper, my opinion is that Clarke will take over from Stack if fit, after the latter was at fault for three goals last Sat. Until then I think he was just about keeping his place.

Hi again, from SalfordImp Can you make sure you put Stack between the sticks again for next Saturdays game against the Imps? Just goes to show what an absolute joke Stack is becoming - and other clubs are noticing! As travelling fans it was just a nightmare to watch and Stack was getting stick (and no - it wasn't all swearing and abusive language: and yes - it was deserved at that time) from pretty much all the Eastleigh fans. If we're saying the defence were not up to scratch why was 6'++ defender Ayo taken off for Ross Stearn? Clarkey has to go back in goal Saturday or I fear we may have a massive (double figure??) defeat against Lincoln. Personally would love to see Mark Childs back between the sticks when he's fit.

We have the defenders to make a solid back line, we just need RH to have faith in them and play them together, personally, I would like to see a back line of Green, Ayo, Dugdale, Reid, giving us two big CB's

I think Salfordimp has read this forum not that other fans are noticing Stack, doubt many are interested in Eastleigh at this stage of this season.
Talk of double figures is complete nonsense before Saturday all was good and we were seeing the season out. Suddenly its all doom again.
Last interesting game on Saturday and think big crowd and RH will get the team fired up.

The general consensus isn't all doom - I'm certainly looking forward to Saturday's game and am sure it will be a good battle against a very strong side. Just have huge doubts over the goalie situation after being there and seeing it on Saturday. D&R beat us 4-0 and last night, Lincoln beat D&R 2-0....!
However Richard Hill has decided to deal with the aftermath of Saturday, we have to trust him. I just hope we see our lads out there showing their pride and passion.

It doesn't really work like that and a bad result such as Saturday isn't ever only one mans fault, its a team game. if the midfield and defence do their job the keeper shouldn't have 4 shots to save and we scored nil but no one seems to be mentioning the strike force, surely we're not blaming Stack for the lack of goals as well as famine, brexit and Eastleighs housing policy....

The odd thing for me is that when I saw Stack play for Barnet against us two years ago I formed the impression that he was the best goalkeeper in the National League and he was selected for the divisional team of the season that year.
I know that in football you are only as good as your last game and that things can change quickly in football, but I always try and see the positive in players if I can.

It would be interesting to have the statistics on the number of goals our strikers have scored. We had a brilliant striker in Mandron but, throughout the season, we've been unable to get a good pairing working well together. Thought Tubbsy and Macca worked well at the last home game v Gateshead but not at D&R.
As others are saying, I can see another big re-shuffle over the summer. Huge credit to Hilly for gaining passion and results from a squad he didn't pick (and a team who could barely put two passes together under MA) but agreed; we will see out the season with our current squad and see what happens over the summer.
I still don't rate Stack - the double figures comment was a bit of sarcasm but I really don't understand what RH sees in Stack that he doesn't see in Clarke.

When MM was with us, a good number of the 14 goals he scored (6-8??) were penalties. Was he winning them all? I think not. Have we had a penalty since he left? Probably not, although I'm sure someone will correct me. How interesting is that?

For those who think that Richard Hill should choose Ryan Clarke ahead of Graham Stack every time it is perhaps worth noting that Richard Hill was Eastleigh manager when Stack played so well against us two years ago. I also believe that Richard also saw the game at Swindon where it is fair to say that although Clarke has made many good saves in an Eastleigh shirt he was not entirely blameless for the goal Swindon scored.
I also thought that Stack was our goalkeeping coach.
