Funny old game isn't it? Down and out 14 days ago, beaten at home by York and now knocking on the door of a top 10 finish? Certainly a win at Torquay will make it look very possible.

I think we could be in trouble then as I predict we will pick up just two draws in the rest of the season Hmmmmmm!!! TBF, we haven't managed to pick up the 2 draws yet - we keep screwing it up by winning!!!

You can always tell those that actually want EFC to do badly, EFC lose and they are all over the forum like a rash. We win and the silence is deafening (and rather wonderful!)

Fair enough guys, I was totally wrong, the team and Richard hill have responded superbly to the downward spiral. Hold my hands up totally. Well done spitfires and looking forward to next season.

Very quite on this relegation thread for the last 10 days, can't think why? so I thought we better return to it.
7 games left for everyone with Orient and Newport Co. 7 and 6 points behind Cheltenham respectively and both with an inferior goal difference, too. Getting late in the day to turn this around for both clubs ?

Getting late in the day to turn this around for both clubs ? If Martin Allen was still in post, relegation was exactly where the team we heading. The fact the club have bounced so well with just a couple of 'old faces' under Hill's guidance underlines how dreadful Allen was. Turning to league 2, I really fear for Leyton Orient's existence coming down. They are in a terrible mess. They would be a huge club at national league level if properly backed. Newport deserve to be the other club relegated, they have been going under ever since their lottery winner owner pulled out. It was good to see Hereford promoted again over the weekend. Their attendance has been phenomenal. An average of 2,721! Fair play to their fans, that's loyalty to the cause.

Its hard, I know, but I really don't have a lot of sympathy for County. I remember them being relegated to the Conference after 2 consecutive relegations in 1987 and 1988. They couldn't complete their season as a non-league club and went bust in February 1989. The re-formed AFC used the Council owned Somerton Park for a couple of years but by 1993 that had been demolished. The club made it to Conference South in 2004 and into the Conference National in 2010 returning to the Football League in 2013. Now the old problems seem to be occurring again with gates no better than EFC's
Hard to believe that after the War they were in the old second Division ( = Championship). Now an article and comments in today's Free Press makes sorry reading with a call at this late stage for new investors.
