Well ok not the last one.
Would have been Chelsea away.
Never mind, can't say we haven't had our fair share of FA cup awaydays in the last couple of years

A good £1m at least I'd imagine with money coming in from ticket sales for Brentford.

Good Luck to you, Brentford, maybe you could spend a bit of the money on the away end seats

I bet M A is happy avoiding that one, by keeping our better players on the bench Saturday so he can save them for our super surge up the table starting tomorrow night!!!

That's sounds ridiculous but I think it may have a grain of truth to it!
Certainly listening to his interview it sounds that way.

I bet Stewart doesn't feel the same way with the likely TV revenue and large away following but it's not happening so lets move on to tomorrow's game.

With the present situation regarding players being cup tied and so many injuries & suspensions we were never going to be able to play MA's team of "choice"- the thought of revenues from a match against Chelsea might have been a dream but the potential for a complete pasting is a prospect that I, for one, am philosophically content to have avoided. Without such restricted team choice we might have had a better shot at it!

Saturday was obviously hugely disappointing but I would rather look at another FA Cup run as one more step on the road towards the Football League.
Up until 1980, Swaythling/EFC had not even entered the FA Cup and for the next 29 seasons we fell short of reaching the First Round proper. In 2009/10 we made it only to lose (just) at Barrow.
Now, the last three years has seen us reach the second round (once) and the third round (twice) and we have our first 2 FL scalps in Crewe and Swindon, both away from home. This 3-season run places Eastleigh among the very best performing of non-league clubs in the FA Cup over that period. Not too shabby for a former Hampshire League club.

That's sounds ridiculous but I think it may have a grain of truth to it! Certainly listening to his interview it sounds that way. I was being sarky fella. I think we 'probably' won't the play offs now. If M A thinks different & that's why he put out a weakened side against Brentford thats his perogative.

"our super surge up the table starting tomorrow night"
I realise that was tongue in cheek!
It was the business about resting one or two players that I thought may have had some truth to it.
Obviously if we'd had our full strength first XI v Brentford we would have won :0)
