With Howells and Pipe leaving, I was thinking about the turnover over of the squad, but the turnover of turnover - given the number of players that arrived in the summer that are already being shipped out:
I may have missed a couple but I think 37 players have been signed since July 2015 (18 months ago) - of which 20 remain (2 have been on short term loans out) and 6 of whom have only arrived in the last month.

Scary stuff, I wonder if 7 different keepers in that period is a record for tier 5?

To me a successful team is all about partnerships.
The strikers, Central midfield, The wings ( Full back & Winger )
But I believe that most important partnership is the defensive triangle of the two centre backs and the keeper. This an area where we we have not been anywhere near settled for a long time. When we where settled our defence was awsome but not now.
So many players have come and gone it's must seem like a bit of a farce to an outsider and still we have not regained our defensive strength.

Don't like to bring Southampton up on this forum but in recent years it's been fonte and Forster with either alderweireld or van dijk. All about the partnerships. for me it's about the defensive triangle as mentioned by SWB. Also the midfield central partnership (look how good Drury and Taylor were becoming) and the 2 strikers. Personally I feel that the full back and wingers can do a job who ever they are and come come in and out of a team but the spine of the side is super important. Hopefully MA will find this teams spine by August next year to start a serious mount of the title.

6 different keepers in the last 5 months (!)
If we can get a reasonably settled side and finish the season in good form could it be a relatively quiet summer?
Probably not but you never know!
