According to reports in The Non League this week, North Ferriby and Solihull Moors are in danger of not achieving the ground regulations by March 31st and face instant relegation come the end of the season, with Ferriby in particular a major concern, as they debate whether to invest and waste money if they are in the bottom four anyway!!!

The issue of meeting ground regulations seems to be coming up more and more often these days. I have no idea of the veracity of the story about these two clubs but it seems that at all levels there are some clubs that behave as if the implications of promotion have come as a total surprise. I recall Stewart Donald coming to talk with us in the first few months after his arrival and discussing what would be needed to get the ground (and the club) ready to meet Football League requirements. That was nearly 5 years ago, and over the intervening period almost everything has been done. It's not as if clubs reach the National league by accident. Perhaps a 2 division demotion is needed to make an example.
