Good to see Bird back in contention.
I guess the big shock is Mandron only on the bench

Coulson was not even in the squad - ''unavailable". Looks like he is leaving in the transfer window. Not pretty today but grounded out the win. Good to get a clean sheet aswell.

Mark Childs did well again. Not a great deal to do most of the match, but 2 crucial saves late on. In fact I'd make him our MOTM again.
A rather dull game overall but Scott Wilson deserved his goal for his persistence. Well, we'd have certainly taken 4points from these 2 games before Xmas, just would have preferred a home win & away draw. Now 7pts off the play-offs, which admittedly could be 10 by tomorrow evening, but it's good to win in the league again, even if the football ain't particularly pretty.

Attendance given as 446. How many spitfires? I would estimate 93. No I didn't count heads.

Although it was not a "wow" performance it was a very hard thought and deserved win. Lots of comments around me that, other than the keeper, no one had stood out but I really thought both full backs were outstanding. Green was his normal faultless self defensively and whenever he got forward the quality of his delivery was first class. But as well as Greener, Odoffin also really caught the eye. Early on I thought he was going to be our achillis heel as he twice dropped back 5/6 yards behind the back line playing the left winger onside but once he had adjusted to the line he was continually first to the ball on the deck and in the air. Not once did it look like anyone would go past him and his strength and aerial ability make him look like someone with a very decent football league future. Not sure if he is able to play next Saturday (or how close he would be to a Wolves first team run out) but with so many injuries and cup tied players I really hope he gets the OK.

Remarkably, it looks like we end the day still seven points off the play-offs with a game in hand over many of our rivals except for Macclesfield and Dover (who play at Maidstone 6pm tonight).
