I actually stayed and watched the whole 90 minutes yesterday and concluded that Northampton were crap at the back, and Mandron looks a decent signing, taking his goals well. Nice touch getting him. My boys watched it all without getting tetchy and fidgety so it was good entertainment. Nice one Eastleigh. 👍

I rarely write about games or performance but having watched the last three home PSF I am looking forward to the season very much. We have scored 11 and conceded 5 in those games and I think I'm right in saying that all our goals have come from open play. Being mindful that during these games CT has played a mix and match to have a look at all the players and try different things we have seen some good football played. Two games and two wins against league opposition and a game against what I thought was a good Poole Town team (Who I think will do well next season) has been a good pre-season for us. Is our defence vulnerable?? I don't think so. They havn't really been tested but that starts next week. They would have had a number of games together to get it right and I'm sure they will. One thing for sure though is we are scoring goals and these are coming from various players and we are not looking to be reliant on just one or two for our goals. I think we will have a great season.

I thought the first half was excellent right from the first whistle. Didnt feel like a preseason game. All the forwards were looking sharp yesterday ( including Yemi and Ross Lafayette). David Pipe also looks like a very good signing as both a midfielder, a full back and a leader on the pitch. Cant gauge too much from preseason performances but looking forward to the start of the seaeon now.

The calibre of players signed by various teams in the league during this close season, has never been higher. The 2 teams who fought out the Championship in the first campaign some 20 years ago were Weymouth and Altrincham. Neither would avoid relegation now. Thats how much this league has improved. This is certainly the best ever Eastleigh squad. There are however some other useful looking squads at Barrow, Lincoln, Tranmere, Forest Green, York City, Dagenham, Gateshead, Forest Green and Wrexham. Theres also bound to be one surprise package. If we do win it, it will be one hell of an achievement.

No one seems to have picked up on our new left back that played yesterday - Ronald Huth. Is he on trial, are we signing him? He certainly looked very useful.

On trial. Probably 2 in and 1 out this week and we will be ready to go!
