Sorry, could someone provide some clarification on this and the Twitter feed?
For normal league games, one end of Stoneham Lane is closed and spectators can use the other end to drive to the ground, where there is a lot of parking. For league games this means people in possession of a car parking pass (the ones you can buy).
What's happening today? Does that mean that there is no parking at the ground? Or is there only parking for those with a pass? I have bought a pass but haven't picked it up yet and wasn't expecting to have to use it today.
And what does the Twitter feed mean when it says spectators should park at 'Stoneham Park'? Does it mean the usual places? Are there any new ones?

It might be true that social media is great for publicity, but in reality a large proportion of supporters and other potential ticket buyers probably don't spend their every waking hour on it.
Something as important as Stoneham Lane being shut for the biggest pre season friendly should be announced and properly explained on the club website.
I'm not holding my breath.
I was looking forward to this match but should I drive over from Titchfield Common wondering whether and/or where I will be able to park? Possibly not.

Wouldn't let parking concerns put you off attending today.
I think if you have bought a parking pass (whether or not you have collected it) then come in from the swaythling end and park at the ground as you normally would.
If not then Stoneham park, cricketers, Concorde club, the war memorial parking opposite the cricketers, usual range of options.
Basically just treat today as a "normal" league game as last season.
Am sure the club will be keen to get things right on parking for the league games & will release some information in the next few days.
Tssc will be in contact with Kenny & the club about this.

Hi Everyone ,
Due to the expected crowd today , a decision out of our hands has ment that a road closure has been put in place. We were expecting not to have to close the road for any of the pre-season games.
If you have a car parking pass this will be fine for you to enter the road from the south side.
Any fans which have not collected their car park pass as of yet , if you make the steward aware on the road closure he will allow you through .

Thanks - that's clearer now.
Might be good to put some of these details on the website/Twitter, as suggested, as hopefully there will be some new fans coming along today.
Surprised (and impressed!) that such a big crowd is expected today. Hope it all goes well.

Can I remind the forum that a sizable % of the season tickets go to the over 60's and although most of us are computer literate, many of us are not users of Twitter, Facebook etc etc. Surely the prime means of communications are -
1 The club website 2 This forum 3 whatever else gets to people - But the priority must be 1 and 2.

Agree with the above & of course there are a significant number of people who "don't do computers" and rely on newspaper/word of mouth etc for news. Which must be v. tough in 2016. The club website is not great (by their own admission) and quite technically difficult/slow to update I believe. Twitter is a very quick easy way to get information to people (albeit you are limited in the number of words you can see). You also don't need to log in or have a twitter account to see the latest news & info. Simply go to: twitter.com/eastleighfc and viola. Re parking there will be news released in the next few days. Panic not, Eastleigh FC have got it covered :0)

Very important to some of us, who are not quite as young ang fit as some of you youngsters. It is Zochlo. Not sure how many parking permits are left but our disabled pass cost £50 for the season and I think all the other permits are the same price. Works out cheaper than parking up the road for £5 a day and don't think Hardmore will be available. The closure of the road is so important - last Tuesday we saw someone in a wheelchair going round the bend of that stretch of Stoneham Lane - there's a big potential of a nasty accident (especially when it's dark) which is why they will be closing the road for every home game again this season.
