Too many minutes of applause and minutes silences etc nowadays that ironically they lose meaning
Yes I agree with you. Lets get rid of this nonsense applause business. Are we so psychologically deranged that we cannot be quiet for 60 seconds? And when we do have a minutes silence lets have one for someone who is or was directly associated with our club, or our opponents in some way. Minutes silence for various world catastrophes have their place, but I am not convinced a non league club is one of them.

British nationals, as well as many others lose their lives. People world over try to show unity against terrorism in any way they can and your both crying on here about a minute lost from your lives in terms of an applause/silence.
Some people are just intolerant numpties.

No I am not "crying on here about a minute lost from (my) life. No not at all. I just feel that a non league football ground is not the best place to have the silence: and as previously pointed out minutes silences are now so common, they do lose their deserved gravitas. You can see and hear it yourself, the respect is not granted as it was because it is so common and has lost it's special place. You can tell the difference when a person connected to the club in some ways is marked by said silence, its a much more respected thing.
We should certainly remember people caught up in terrible tragedies, of course we should. The question is how and where is the most appropriate way.

All for solidarity which is why we will obviously be having a minute silence for the attack in Kabul this week and Turkeys continuous bombing of Kurdistan as seen today, oh but of course we won't because it's not Western Europe, that's why I find it so ingenious

Anyone who needs music to accompany the best feeling in the world I.e your team smashing one in, needs a word with themselves. Do we need a minute silence for Belgium? Did the 5th division of Belgium have one for our terrorist attacks, I think not. Too many minutes of applause and minutes silences etc nowadays that ironically they lose meaning. I didn't say music was needed, just feel it adds to the atmosphere! If a minutes silence annoys you then maybe your the one that needs to have a word with themselves!

I like a bit of music as the teams come out. It does add to the atmosphere. That's why they do it at all the big clubs.

We need to build the atmosphere before the teams come out on the pitch. Sean Whelan and Michael Kurn both understood how to do it and did it well. To be fair, I reckon Dennis has come back at short notice to do the type of job he does & he he too does it in his way well. However the club does need to look to the future, and secure the services of someone who knows how to use music in the right way and has excellent presentation skills. I'm not suggesting a competition, but we do need to think about a club anthem. Something original thatother clubs don't use. Public Service Broadcasting's "Spitfire" was good, but probably not recognisable to enough people and, of course, only had spoken lyrics in the background. Not the Benny Hill theme!! I'm struggling to think of one myself, but it would be good if it was easily singable, recognisable and not used by other clubs.

Agree that Public Service Broadcasting's 'Spitfire' should be used when the players come out. Unique to us (so many other teams use that Pirates of the Caribbean theme) and the track itself is pretty stirring as it builds up. I don't think it matters that the majority of fans might not have heard the track or the band but as it gets played more and more it'll be recognised.
