Largely agree with this.
just as an aside its quite interesting to note that the spine of our conference South title winning squad were all 29-33
Flitney, Todd, Beckwith, Collins, Southam, Strevens, McAllister

Sounds correct. Its possibly a touch higher in theory (we got 5,025 for Bolton in 2016) which was a sell out, although about 200 was lost to segregation on that day.
550 seats have been added since then (though that would have presumably resulted in a slight fall in the standing capacity).
So in theory possibly 5,750 at a push, in a practice more like 5,500.
In the current climate obviously quite a bit less. If the capacity is to be reduced to around 1500, I wonder if it will be all ticket for some of the time next season?

New assistant manager of Watford.
Only left us in the early part of last season - seems an eternity ago.

They are voting on whether the national league is to be finished or not at the moment. A slightly daft vote IMO as whatever way it goes it poses more questions which are really part of the "how do we end the season" scenario.
Agree with much of the H&W post, although it does come across as a "we are second, can we have promotion please?" message. Don't really see how that can happen, as who would be relegated from the national league? Chorley might accept it, but I doubt anyone else would.
I quite like the idea of finishing the season with 3/4 matches in a couple of weeks, but no idea how that would work in practice. It sort of seems like voiding the season is becoming inevitable with perhaps the odd "promotion" for clubs through Bury/teams withdrawing. Though will any teams withdraw from the national league or national north/south? I would have thought not.
The PL will find their own solution, but its worth bearing in mind that the Euros are sceduled for June 2021, so the 2020-2021 season will (presumably) finish in May. So to finish this season and complete a full season next, looks like a tall order. But the sheer £££ could mean it will happen. The worldwide TV & media deal for the premier league is worth a something like £3 Billion a year & as ever money talks.

Hi Spitfires! Long shot but humour me if you will. I’m currently Sunderland on Football Manager ‘16 and want to bring my backroom team up to date with real life. The problem being, Richard Hill (Director of Football) and Paul Reid (Head of Youth Development) have both completely retired from the game. Anyone know who would be a like for like/similar replacement for both these men? Have Eastleigh had any other DoF during Donald’s time at Eastleigh? That Matt Hewton? Dave Malone? Anyone else? Hess? I’ve brought Jack Midson in rather than Paul Reid. Can you tell the lockdown boredom has well and truly set in? 😂😂 Would probably say Hess as the most similar like for like replacement for Hill (both with many years as managers and or assistant managers, much of it in the football league). Re Paul Reid, if you are looking for an aging player come clubman, then I'd think Ross Flitney would be a good bet. Still registered as a player with us & does stuff with our academy as I well I believe.

Hmmm. I think they would have to be very carefull if they go for a "lets void the season but there is a spare space and we'll give it to Barrow" situation.
I think it seems like they are jumping the gun a bit here. Guessing they are keen to get things "sorted" before the end of April when a number of player contracts are up. I assume the majority of player contracts in NLN & NLS south run to the end of April, where the majority of player contracts in the NL I would think would run to the end of June. Though I'm sure a fair few still run out in April.
Given that Step 3 down has been voided (AFAIK) then presumably there is no relegation from NLN or NLS this season?
Obviously whatever promotion or non promotion we have has to fit in with League 2s relegation as well. It would be a bit odd of the national league to act first and then league 2s relegation has to fit in with what the national league has decided with promotion.
Can imagine most national league clubs may well vote to void the season (including us?) as it may bring quicker financial clarity. Though obviosuly there are a few at the top end of the table who I'm sure would be keen to finish the season, as we would have been last season.
The Trophy - now come on, surely that *Should* be finished. Its a compeition which has had 200+ games so far and needs just 5 to finish it, or 3 if they make the semis one legged. Feels against natural justice to write the trophy up when its almost done, that would be like abandoining a game after 87 minutes.
Still positive news on the £££ front:
"The board has received £2m of funding from the Premier League, which will be sent out to clubs next week, with £58,333 to be given to each National League club and £13,636 each to those in the North and South divisions."
Speaking purely on the EFC front, I would imagine the finances of this situation is the main thing that the club is keen to sort.

One other thing I missed out was that if it was my decision (haha!) I'd probably do the same as whatever the PL and EFL decide, which I think is to complete the season, if at all possible.

It is a tricky one. There is no good option, only a least bad option. IMO its too early to void it, but that may the "best" option further on down the line. Clearly we don't have much idea when football can restart, it could be 2 months away, it could be 8 months away. We also don't know what the rest of the football world is doing. If the EFL will complete (in say September) then we must be in sync with that or at least have some idea of a plan to resolve things? I'm glad it doens't really matter for us. In truth its been a bit of a forgettable season for us, so from a selfish point of view most EFC fans won't really be fussed about what happens. I suppose I feel it unfair on Barrow if their season is discounted when it looked likely it would end up in promotion. Interesting that in the latest PL statement mentions the National league twice www.premierleague.com/news/1651836"The sporting and financial implications for Premier League clubs as well as for The FA, EFL and National League were considered at today’s meeting." "Critically, the League unanimously voted to advance funds of £125 million to the EFL and National League as it is aware of the severe difficulties clubs throughout the football pyramid are suffering at this time." Hopefully this bodes well for Eastleigh & the national league. Another thing is the Hants Cup. Its 3 games away from being completed. Hard to see why this can't be finished, even if the games are effectively played as pre-season games. Its not right for 95% of a cup compeition to be completed and then the whole thing voided when it can easily be completed. Is it? Anyway lots of questions, but it might take some time to come up with the best answers to them all.

Have you got a link to the statement that was issued yesterday? I can't seem to find anything on the national league site. I've seen a piece on the BBC www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52039174which refers to "a statement issued to all member clubs and released by fifth-placed Boreham Wood" (https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/uncategorized/league-statement/) which sounds quite bizarre to me. Anyway the situation does seem to be a bit unclear. AFAIK the current status is that the league has been suspended till April 3rd, now its virtually inconceivable that the football will restart then, but IMO its not neccessary to close the season yet and say no more national league games are to be played. Its a fluid and complex situation. I would think that if and when the national league is announced as "closing the season" that needs to go hand it hand with how final positions & promotion and relegation issues are to be decided or whether the season is to be voided.
