I think to scrap them from the 3rd round on is wrong, i suppose fair enough if both teams agree in advance of the tie to no replay.
To scrap them in the 1st & 2nd round seems crazy, properly absurd. Think this may well be overturned.
As well as Newport, Swindon was a great tie, TV & then hammering them on the replay. i remember Stourbridge under the lights 3-0 with a Sam smart somersault. Halifax getting back at 4am, the list goes on.
This is ridiculous

Its a relief to have safety confirmed. I never seriously thought we'd come close to going down, but when it gets to April you just need to get mathematically safe, didn't need any far fetched last day scenarios with 6 results going against us meaning disaster happens.
Overall its been a disappointing season in the league. IMO this group of players can do better than our records suggests, I reckon we are 10-15 points light on where we should be.
So hopefully the squad can be improved a bit and we can be up in the top 7 next season. I don't think it necessarily needs a massive overhaul.

Ihis thread has given me an excuse to look up Josh Hares late winner when we beat them 2-1. One of my favourite Eastleigh goals, standing right behind it as the ball arrows in to the top corner. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QIdtfLTWHogoal is at 2.40. Enjoy!

He is at port vale. I would have thought every chance of him departing at the end of the season as they seem likely to go down.

157 made the trip. Another for McCallum to end a mini draught.
He is now 6 clear in the golden boot race, it is done & dusted surely.
By my calculations we are guaranteed 11th-19th so hopefully we can get as high as poss

Strange to see a team managed by Paul Doswell doing less well. Three promotions at Eastleigh, two at Sutton plus playoff appearances and at H&W one playoff appearance and two top half of the table finishes. On the subject of Doswell I don’t think he has had a great time at sholing this season, however they got a good win last night which goes a long way to securing safety for this season,

Relegation confirmed last night. It’s been coming for quite a while.
They started the season with Just 6 points from 20 games & have never recovered.
I wonder what’s gone wrong down there?

Gateshead off tonight & still have 5 games to play. That’s going to be a struggle with only 11 days of the season left.
Halifax off tonight as well, they may play the Thursday before they face us on the final day.

I would have thought leave garrard in the job and then change it at the end of the season.
I see Wealdstone have just sacked their manager, seems really late in the season for a change! They have been on a pretty awful run so are in the relegation picture, they have 4 home games in 8 days (first in the national league?!) coming up including us at the end of that group.
At the other end of the table Aldershot are on the brink of “doing an Eastleigh”, 2 points from 15 has put what looked like a playoff spot, in serious doubt.

Could 60 points get us a top half placing?
Lot of places to play for, hopefully we can finish as high as possible which will quite possibly help with the summer recruitment in making us look like a side chasing the top 7 rather than just looking to avoid the bottom 4

Sacking Garrard, yet keeping him in charge seems really odd in the middle of a relegation battle. Surely wait till the end of the season?
Still they won 4-0 yesterday so maybe it was a master stroke!

I must admit I thought it was odd timing to put these on sale, but I say well done to the club. We have now sold some rather zero so it’s a bit of a no brainer IMO.
Where we really missed a trick was not doing it last season when we looked set for the playoffs. That combined with the no migration cock up probably cost us a few hundred ST sales for this season. Anyway that is water under the bridge now.
Can see there is not a great deal of enthusiasm for the 24-25 season at the moment, but am sure that will grow as it comes closer.
